Veyo Pool Resort

Veyo Pool and Crawdad Canyon has been in my summer bucketlist for years. This year we finally checked it off our list and it exceeded all expectations! And the bar was set high in my mind.

We arrived around 5pm Saturday night and the kids jumped right into the river and got to work catching the first of dozens of crawdads of all sizes.

The sun was setting in the sky, casting beautiful sun flare onto the water. The kids were laughing, and overcome with pure joy and I immediately knew this would become a new family tradition for year to come.

THIS is childhood. This place is where core memories were made. It was just as magical for me, so I can only imagine what my kids were feeling. I don't want to sound over the top, but it really was pure magic. The natural spring waterfall, glittering in the setting sun, the rope bridges over the river (my personal fave), the river located right next to the pool! Which was awesome because I could watch kids swim and hear kids in the river at the same time. The private trail along the river, ending with a little rope swing that they kids couldn't get enough of. And to top it off, we stayed in a quaint little farm house located on the Veyo property!

They really have something for everyone. Oh, and while Veyo is only 20 minutes from St.George, UT, its a solid 10-15 degrees cooler in the Veyo canyon, so its the perfect place to cool off in the summer.

They close up for the season in Oct, so this would be the perfect spot to go for fall break too!

The pool is fed by this natural spring coming out of the mountain. The water is cold, but they heat it as it runs into the pool, so the pool is perfect. Not freezing, but not too warm on a hot day.

This is the little farm house located on the Veyo property. You can rent it out on their website. It sleeps 8 comfortably with 4 bedrooms and 2 baths and a spacious kitchen and family room.

The house is right next to the parking lot, so you just walk to the pool.

The rope swing is located about half a mile down the trail. The kids LOVED it and went dozens of times. We were losing light at this point, sorry for the blurry low quality photos.

The trail is well marked and not too difficult. There were a couple spots that littles might need a hand to hold, but other than that, they just ran free and had the best time.

The pool is down in the canyon so the views are so unique and beautiful.

The kids swam for HOURS! Only getting out to play in the river or have lunch at the grill. Definitely snag a famous Veyo Pie Shake while you are there.

I soaked up as much vitamin D as possible and got caught up on reading. I love that my kids are all great swimmers and older so I can actually read poolside now. I spent the last 19 years staring at the pool, so it's been nice to be in this new phase were I only have to occasionally look up to check on kids.

Back to the river. Veyo Pool has Crawdad Kits available to purchase. I highly recommend getting the kit. It comes with a fishing pole, net, hot dog and a bucket, and you get to keep it.

We give Veyo Pool and Crawdad Canyon 10/10 and can't wait to come back. This would be a great spot for a family reunion or youth group or just a fan family vacation.
