Gunlock Falls - SOUTHERN UTAH BUCKETLIST

This is the best place to explore for all ages. There were babies in packs and toddlers climbing rocks, as well as many senior citizens out exploring. The path to the falls is clearly marked and short. About 5 minutes to the falls. You can see them great from the road too, if you just want to drive by. The path is soft sand, so be sure to wear good shoes. We recommend THESE so you're not walking around with your shoes full of sand. Plus, if your feet get wet, they will dry fast but still give you traction

Aspiration Trail Hike - St. George

Bring your painted rocks and walking shoes and enjoy a growing trail system! Did we mention it is hand-built! This is a kid friendly hike, easy enough for a 5 year. There are a few stairs, but other than that, it's a nice rock lined trail. I wasn't prepared for hiking on this girls trip, so I only had flip flops on and I was fine. I was so impressed by the magnitude of this project. There are miles of trail system, all lined In rocks! And on top of that, there are thousands of hand painted rocks of all

Indian Ladder - Moab

Our friends took us to this awesome climbing area in Moab. The front is covered in pictographs. It's called the Indian Ladder, but I don't think it's been around that long. The ladder is made up of smooth logs that have been jammed into the cracks in the rock. All the kids lined up for their turn up. The first ladder is low enough for anyone to climb up, but the next ladder is quite the stretch. I'm guessing its 6ft up. I could reach it on my tippy toes, but didn't have enough upper body strength to do a

Lake Powell

Road trippin' ! This year has been quite the contrast from last year. With our 12 staycation project in 2019, plus a girls trip at the beginning of the summer, we had already been on 8 staycations by July, one of which was a 10 day humanitarian trip to Mexico. Fast forward to 2020, we kicked of January with a 10 day road trip up the coast of California. Then quarantine kicked in and all the happenings around the country so we had to cancel our trip to Taiwan in May and weren't planning any trips for the summer. But

Zion Adventure Photog Family Photos | 12 Utah Staycations

When I realized that we would be close to Arika (from Zion Adventure Photog) when visiting Cable Mountain Lodge, I knew that family photos needed to happen! Arika is my favorite Southern Utah Photographer (dare I say favorite in general?) I was super excited to have Stephanie meet Arika in person too. Stephanie and I planned to have Arika take pretty casual photos. I wanted to have some photos that shows us pretty much how we are, dressed as we are, stains and all. I loved how they turned out. I admire Arika's love for adventure families too! She's got
Hiking the Narrows | 12 Utah Staycations harm Tue, 11/26/2019 - 09:10
Hiking The Narrows has been a life long goal of mine. I always pictured a big trip down to Zion with a group of people, taking a guided tour for an all-day hiking experience. Well our schedule got switched around and our Sunday morning was wide open, so when I saw people riding the shuttle in full gear I knew they were hiking The Narrows. I tracked down some gear to rent at a local spot just outside the gate of the park and then reached out to our amazing followers online for some tips. They encouraged me to go

St. George | 12 Utah Staycations

We had a spare minute and found ourselves about 20 minutes away from St. George and 20 minutes away from sunset. So we headed straight to The Crack! This is our favorite fast adventure and it just isn't a visit to St. George without conquering The Crack. We've never hiked it in the dark before. It was dusk, but the crack its self was super dark. It is definitely harder in the dark, so I don't recommend it if you are hiking for the first time. This is looking down from the top. We just love that red rock. And

Canyon Overlook Trail | 12 Utah Staycations

During our last visit to Zion, we used the FREE shuttle system so I didn't even know about the other side of Zion National Park. There is an awesome tunnel that is over a mile long that you can drive through. Right as you exit the tunnel, start searching for a parking spot. There is a small parking lot to the right, and parking along the road to the left. This overlook hike is basically a mini Angels Landing. It's a short hike, about 30 minutes, and the views are incredible. There are some steep cliffs so keep the littles
