Floating the Richfield Canal | 12 Utah Staycations

We love finding the local Gems! When we found out the local thing to do was float the canal...we KNEW we had to do it! Floating the canal isn't something you can do just anywhere! Luckily, our tour guide Katelin, had all the tubes and even a raft. We stuffed 4 kids and Harmony on that raft and send them down Jeb's hole! We only had one person tip over on the falls. (She was fine.) There was also a rope swing we somehow missed. We spent about 45 minutes floating down the canal. Honestly, it was SOOO relaxing! The

Mystic Hot Springs | 12 Utah Staycations

Mystic Hot Springs in Monroe has been on our Salt Project bucket list forever! Thanks to our sponsor Utah's Trail Country for making it possible! See some of our other favorite Utah hot springs here. Mystic Hot Springs is a mineral hot springs not a sulfur spring so it doesn't smell! The first thing we saw was a whole bunch of old buildings and busses. We walked up to a building and look what we found! Two peacocks! They lovingly decided to pose for us too. Apparently, you can camp and stay the night here! There's a bunch of busses

Big Rock Adventure Lazy River Float | 12 Utah Staycations

Floating the Sevier River...who knew it could be SUCH a dream! Big Rock Adventures in Marysvale have a "Lazy River Float" that's for ANYONE and ANY Age! Our kids LOVED IT! The river is slow and easy in some portions and then provides just enough excitment for even the adults. You show up and sign the waivers, grab a life jacket and then Big Rock Adventures drops you off with tubes and rafts. They told us we had 1.5 hours to float and they would meet us at the end. Most of the time, Stephanie's kids floated in the actual

Cherry Hill | 12 Utah Staycations

Cherry Hill! It's been around for over 50 years! What started out as a farm, then a place to camp and then a theme park has become quite the Davis County Icon. We're super excited to team up with Play in Davis to giveaway a whole Staycation + tickets to Cherry Hill! One of the best parts about Cherry Hill is that there is a spot for everyone to have fun! We took turnes going on the tube rides (without the kids) because we loved it! Even the adults have things to do. My husband kept saying how we had
Hike Hidden Haven near Parowan harm Tue, 07/09/2019 - 15:41
Hidden Haven in Parowan! Who's hiked this before? Not us! This easy hike is 1.4 miles that ends at a waterfall. We've literally driven by this hike SOO many times. This giant sign is there to tell the world and we just drove by it like three times this year already. Once when we were at Brian Head during our Cedar City Staycation and then another time when we were driving through the canyon on the way home from Bryce Canyon Staycation. It only took a family reunion to get us to this sweet hike and we ALMOST didn't even

Red Fleet Paddlefest | 12 Utah Staycations

Red Fleet Paddlefest is a yearly event at Red Fleet State Park. I’d never even heard of Red Fleet before and it’s truly a hidden gem. Just a few miles outside of Vernal is this red oasis of water. Red Fleet was named for the rocks that surround the reservoir that look like a fleet of ships. It really does. Paddlefest is a free local event where everyone has a chance to paddleboard, kayak, and canoe on Red Fleet. Basically, anything it a paddle. There was even a trampoline on the water! All the activities were free and there was

Red Fleet Dinosaur Track Hike | 12 Utah Staycations

Hiking Red Fleet Dinosaur Track was AMAZING! This 3 mile roundtrip hike is well marked and so fun. We had a very busy couple of days, so we decided to leave the kids back at the Dinosaur Inn to rest with Steph's husband and head out for a little night hike. The coolest part of this trail is that it has dino tracks printed along the entire thing. At first we thought it was a real track, but then we realized it was a trail marker. So clever. This trail is very hard to follow, not a clear path, so

Gunlock Falls | Gunlock State Park

Gunlock State Park or Gunlock Falls as it known this year is PHENOMENAL! We had just finished our Girl's Trip at Red Mountain Resort and knew we had to take the long way home so we could see Gunlock Falls. When we came around the bend and saw how HUGE the falls were we all "OOOOOOOOh and AWWWWW!" Gunlock State Park is normal a small reservoir with NO falls, except once in every few years. I think I heard that the last time the falls were running was 12 years ago. So you've GOT to put the falls on your

Free Beach in Garden City | 12 Utah Staycations

On our last day at Conestoga Ranch, we decided that we needed to end our trip with another bike ride to Bear Lake! We got everyone on their bikes and bike 1 mile to a Free Beach in Garden City. We seriously love that Conestoga Ranch has complimentary bikes for their visitors! It was a beautiful day! The kids hiked up their pants and waded quite far out into blue Bear Lake. We saw a bunch of pelicans fly by too! It was the perfect way to end our Staycation at Bear Lake and Conestoga Ranch! Don't forget, we've got

Kayaking Bear Lake | 12 Utah Staycations

We were super excited to try Kayaking Bear Lake! It was an overcast day, but that didn't phase us. We rented Kayak's from Epic Adventures Rentals on the South Side of Bear Lake. Since the sky was turning darker by the moment, we decided just to kayak around the docking area, in case the wind picked up. The kids loved it. We didn't even have to go far, good thing too, because we saw lightning in the distance and really dark clouds rolling in. We decided to call it quits but vow to come kayaking again when it's sunny!
