12 July 2017
I know you've all heard/read about/done fun things at Bear Lake (see past Salt Project posts here, here and here) but I'm here to assure you that there are still MORE fun things to do during your visit to Bear Lake that you probably have never done before! All of the activities are located in the Bear Lake Valley, which means they cover Utah and Idaho territory. Here's the list: Visit the Paris Tabernacle If you take a short drive north of Bear Lake on the US-89, you'll end up in Paris. Idaho, that is. I wish you could take

Kanarraville Falls | Adventurin' | Hikes
harm
9 May 2016
This is one hike everyone should/could do in their life at least once. We've hiked with kids from ages 1-12 on this hike, so we know if can be done for all ages! The trail starts out long, steep and hot but once you get pass the dirt road and up to the water tower there is more shade cover, you start hiking alongside the creek, and the scenery becomes much more exciting. Be sure to wear shoes that you can get wet. You can't really avoid it. My favorite part of the hike is when you enter the canyon
Moki Dugway | Valley of The Gods | Monticello Staycation

13 April 2016
Who's heard of Moki Dugway? Or Valley of the Gods? Not I. But now that I've driven through it, I'll never be the same. We'd just seen Natural Bridges National Monument and thought we might as well drive one of the most dangerous roads in Utah. The view at the top is nothing short of spectacular. No photo could really do it justice. "The Mokee (or Moki) Dugway, located on Utah Route 261 just north of Mexican Hat, Utah is a staggering, graded dirt switchback road carved into the face of the cliff edge of Cedar Mesa. It consists of
Spiral Jetty | Great Salt Lake
harm
25 January 2016
Think of one place in Utah where people come from all over the world to visit. Zion National Park? Temple Square? Arches National Park? If you guessed any of these glorious places, you'd be right, but you may be surprised to know that the Spiral Jetty fits this description, too. (See our post on Utah.com) Created in 1970 by renowned artist/sculptor Robert Smithson, the Spiral Jetty forms a massive coil of black basalt rocks jutting from the northeastern shore of the Great Salt Lake. People from all over the world (especially those who know a bit about the art world)
If you had half a day in Zion National Park with kids | Adventurin'

30 November 2015
If you had half a day in Zion National Park...what would you do? Even with the snow on the ground, there is still plenty of hiking to be done! I found myself asking that question on Halloween Day. We were down visiting family and really wanted to visit Zion. My husband and I hadn't been to the main entrance of the park for years and years, so we felt it was the perfect time to go since it wasn't blazing hot. We thought it was going to be cold, so we all packed long sleeves and jackets. Luckily, it ended

Renegade Raceway | Garden City, Utah This was a last minute stop and we are so glad we did! You pass the Raceway as you enter Garden City, right before you reach Bear Lake. You can't miss it. I didn't know if the younger kids would be able to do it so we weren't going to stop, but guess what? They can! They have pillows to put behind kids so they can reach the peddles, also, for short adults like myself. Locke(10) road by himself, Dan took Riz(4) and Breckyn(8) came with me. The baby, unfortunately, was too small, so

Perry's Berries | Grubbin' | Adventurin'
harm
2 August 2015
We decided a trip out to the country farmland would be the perfect quintessential end of summer activity. I grew up with parents that always had a garden going in the backyard and learned a lot about where food comes from and how to grow and harvest my own food and wanted to pass that along to my kids. There are tons of pick your own fruit farms around Utah, so we did some research and came across Perry’s Berries just outside of Payson, Utah. They were very affordable (only $3 for a full pound of raspberries) and best of

You might want to stick around, because we've got some passes to giveaway and a 2 for 1 deal on admission! We have the most incredible hidden gem to share today! We have driven by this place for years and every once in awhile I would catch a glimpse of some blue slides camouflaged inside a forest of trees. This year we decided to go check it out. Right at the top of the viaduct there is a small sign for Classic Waterslides. Turn there. You drive under the viaduct right next to the train tracks. There is a small
