Things to do in Zion with Kids | 12 Utah Staycations

Zion National Park has so many epic hikes. I mean, Angel's Landing, The Subway, The Narrows. The whole world knows about these hikes. While they are epic, they are too epic for some young kids, like mine. I've been to Zion National Park so many times I feel like I've hiked everything there is to hike with kids. This last visit to Zion National Park was a little tougher because SOOOO many of the kid-friendly trails were closed! Weeping Rock (closed indefinitely) & The Emerald Pool Trails were closed for maintenance. We made the best out of the situation and

Pine Creek Gorge Slot Canyon | 12 Utah Staycations

If you find yourself at the Overlook Hike, then you are right where you need to be to find the Pine Creek trail. This trail is NOT clearly marked in any way. The trail head is located in the parking lot right as you exit the tunnel. There is a sign to follow the path under the road/bridge. You will be able to see somewhat of a trail. Follow that down into the slot canyon. Small children will need help down but I think they would have fun exploring the canyon. Once you are down, head to the right. The
Cable Mountain Lodge | 12 Utah Staycations harm Thu, 11/21/2019 - 09:33
.We were able to stay at Cable Mountain Lodge right at the mouth of Zion National Park! It. was. amazing. Just image waking up to these views every morning. Seriously, you can’t get a much better view. We got in around 9:30 pm and all the Christmas Lights were up. There’s something kind of magical about getting in late and not really knowing where you are staying. It’s the best feeling to wake up the next day and take it all in. Here are some of our favorite features about Cable Mountain Lodge! The Views! From any point, at Cable

Biking the Pa'Rus Trail in Zion National Park

Who doesn’t love a family bike ride on a warm summer night? It's what summer dreams are made of. Family bike rides are such a great way to get some exercise, get the kids out of the house and enjoy some scenery. Take that family bike ride to the Pa’Rus trail in Zion and what you get is pure summer magic. I have three kiddos, a seven-year-old (Lucy), four-year-old (Willow), and one almost two-year-old (Phoenix). We could have loaded our bikes up and taken them with us on our adventure, but instead, we took the easy route and got our

Angels Landing | Zion National Park

Angel's Landing hike in Zion National Park has been on my bucket list for years! I love hiking but it looked really intimidating so I never really perused it. When I did start doing research on Angel's Landing I couldn't find a lot of info, just the basic stuff, like that it was 5 miles, strenuous, and I needed to pack lots of water. ok, ok, but I wanted to know what do expect. Would I even be able to make it? Could my kids do it? How hard is it really? I found a couple YouTube videos that completely

Blondie's Diner | Grubbin' | Southern Utah

If you are looking for some hometown charm, locally owned, free ice-cream cones for the kids, and some good homemade food, Blondie's Diner is your place. We stumbled upon Blondie's our first night and I knew we had to try it out. The Buffalo Burger was calling my name! And it did not disappoint. Dan got a navajo taco, and the kids enjoyed pancake dippers (huge hit). We couldn't pass up the Homemade Apple Pie for dessert and the kids were thrilled with ice-cream cones to top it off! Blondie, the owner, was there and stopped by to see how

Park House Cafe | Grubbin'

On our way out of town Sunday afternoon we were deciding on a place for lunch and couldn't pass up the charm of Park House Cafe. It's at the edge of town and you can't miss the bright blue color. Park House is owned by a sweet local couple that cook up some pretty incredible grub. The menu includes organic, vegan, and vegetarian. I was expecting some street tacos but was pleasantly surprise by gourmet street tacos! And don't even get me started on the salsa! Everything we ordered was incredible (yes I tasted all of my kids food too)

Mild to Wild Rhino Tours | Southern Utah

Mild to Wild Rhino Tours were recommended to us by Cable Mountain Lodge where we were staying just outside of Zion National Park. We came to Zion for the hiking, so taking an ATV tour hadn't even crossed our mind. We were so grateful for the recommendation! Minimum age for riders is 3, our littlest is 2 so my husband stayed back at the lodge with my youngest two and I took the oldest two (9,11 yrs) with me on the tour. We had THE TIME OF OUR LIFE!! These guys definitely live up to their name Mild to Wild
