Many years ago, we had a guest post on The Salt Project about Coral Pink Sand Dunes State Park. Ever since 2014, I have been DYING to visit! I can't believe it took me 5 years to get here! Thanks to our partner Kane County, I could finally check it off my list! The ironic thing is because it's February...there was SNOW all over the lovely dunes. Only a hint of Coral Pink could be seen. It's okay though, nothing could keep me from getting on those dunes. Two of the four kids were asleep so we decided to split

Rhiannon Here! Although we hiked loads in 2017, 2018 was not nearly as exciting- we had too many of our routines thrown out of whack. So with school out during Winter Break I thought I’d try to make up for lost time and I took my kids up Big Cottonwood Canyon to snow shoe a trail that we have frequently done without the snow, Mill D North. It’s across the road from Donut Falls (see our guest post here.) Round Trip would be anywhere from 4 miles to about 8 miles, it depends on where you are going- Dog Lake

Welcome Alexandra! She's guest posting on a hike we've all had on our bucket list, but just never seem to get too. She's giving us some winter inspiration to go hiking! It took this California Girl a few years after moving to Utah before I was brave enough to go hiking in the show. I love hiking in the warmer months, but I'm not big into skiing or snowboarding and snowshoeing didn't sound all that fun to me with my toddler on my back (I'm more willing to try it now). A friend I met through Hike it Baby added

With all the fresh snow Cache Valley has just gotten, I'm sure this is a magical winterland. 1. Hardware Ranch One of our first Salt Project Adventures! Yes, you can do all of these activates in a day. Just plan accordingly. It's an all day thing if you don't live nearby. 2. Hyrum City Park aka Winter Wonderland We passed this park on our way to Hardware Ranch. We probably spent 30 minutes there, but we could have stayed forever! 3. Salt Hollow Park | Hyrum, UT We also passed this park on our way as well. Who knew Hyrum

Brittney is here to tell you some things NOT to do about Gorgoza Park. Be sure to check out 4 things TO DO on our past post here! 1. Don't NOT go when sunny. Apparently when snow is falling, it’s pretty impossible to tube. We probably picked the absolute worst day of the season to try tubing at Gorgoza. The snow makes the hill sticky and the tubes just don’t move. On a good run, you could only make it half-way down the hill. It’s just not the best idea to go on a day when the snow is falling

Sledding is one of my favorite childhood winter activities. Now having kids of my own (ages 1-10yrs) I've figured out a few things that are a must when taking kids sledding. It's tradition to go sledding with cousins on hwy 193 over Christmas break. It's so much more fun to go in a group! We all bring a couple sleds/boards/saucers and a few bags (if you don't know what bagging is, check it out here). We always boil water before we go and put it in a thermos. We pack paper cups, a couple spoons to stir and a box

Today we've got Victoria telling us all about Gorgoza Park! I prefer sledding with my kids compared to skiing, largely due to cost but also because it is more accessible and provides a quick thrill for kids. We have several favorite sledding hills in east Salt Lake but I’ve always wanted to try a tubing park. If you head up Parley’s Canyon (toward Park City on I-80) Gorgoza Park is only 20 minutes from Salt Lake off the Jeremy Ranch exit. My family had the chance to try sledding at Gorgoza Park this past week during a social media event

I would guess there is quite a bit more snow than when we went last year. 2. Hyrum City Park aka Winter Wonderland We passed this park on our way to Hardware Ranch. We probably spent 30 minutes there, but we could have stayed forever! 3. Salt Hollow Park | Hyrum, UT We also passed this park on our way as well. Who knew Hyrum had

In spring, summer and fall, Tibble Fork is crowded with photographers snapping incredible pictures. Why? Because it's insanely beautiful up there! We've been up there to take pictures plenty of times so when we heard you could go sledding there in the Winter we immediately added it to our Winter Bucket list. It's a little bit of a drive but I promise you it's worth it! The scenery is breathtaking but that's not the only reason Tibble Fork makes for an awesome sledding hill. There are a few different areas all around Tibble Fork that you can choose to sled
