Campfire Grill at Conestoga Ranch | 12 Utah Staycations

Do anyone else's children seem like they are a bottomless pit while camping? We only brought a bag of snacks and I was worried we wouldn't have enough snacks for the few days we were there. Over the course of 3 days, we were able to eat some delicious foods for breakfast, lunch, and dinner at Campfire Grill. Campfire Grill has an amazing menu. Everything we tried was amazing! Chef Vince knows his food! Thanks to Campfire Grill for hosting The Salt Project, it's no small feat to feed our army. How does one even describe their menu? With so

Garden City Pool | 12 Utah Staycations

Garden City has its own public pool. Most of you probably don't know that, since you only go during the warm summer months in Utah. Somehow, The Salt Project only comes to Garden City in the early spring! The kids loved it! There are loads of kids toys/floaties/noodles and some good tunes! We spent a little over an hour here swimming and wearing out the kids! We literally had to drag some of the kids out, but isn't that how it always goes with pools? If you find yourself in Bear Lake and crazy weather, consider visiting the Garden City

LaBeau's Drive-In & Bear Lake Bike Barn KOA

Bear Lake Bike Barn KOA was kind enough to sponsor the Salt Project with some surrey bikes this past weekend. Have you ever ridden a Surrey bike before? Have you ever done a Chinese Fire Drill while 24 months pregnant on a surrey bike? (Peer pressure is still alive and well.) Well, let me tell you, it's kind of awkward and funny all at the same time. LaBeau's Drive-In 69 N Bear Lake Blvd, Garden City, UT 84028 Not far from the Bike Barn is LaBeau's Drive-In. I'm not gonna lie, those surrey bikes are kind of intense. After about

Pizza, Boardwalk and Beach in Garden City Park

After our RZR ride we headed over to Summit Inn Pizza in Garden City to do some take-out! (Thanks for having us Summit!) We reviewed Summit Inn Pizza in the winter and it was delicious. So we had to try it again! This time we took it to the Garden City Park Beach. Sadly, we were just a week early for their Dole Whips... so we'll have to check those out next time. (If you have one, let us know!) The pizza did not disappoint. Their doodles (above) and sauces are always a favorite. This time we had the Margherita

Epic Recreation RZR Adventure

My brother-in-law just asked me if Bear Lake is really all the fun. Since I had just barely gotten back, ya know, two days ago, I was like YA! But he and I are similar in the fact that we aren't really water people. Sure, I like to hang out at the beach once in a great while, but I didn't grow up boating or spending much time at the beach, so maybe it's the fact that I don't really know how to enjoy the beach??! We were more of a fishing/camping kind of family. Riding a RZR through the

What Makes Conestoga Ranch so Magical

Today, I woke up in my own bed and found myself a little upset that a truck was roaring up the road at 6:15 in the morning. Then, the dog needed to go out and then proceeded to bark for 20 minutes, then baby woke up... Let’s go back to two days ago, when my little family woke up in a wagon at Conestoga Ranch. All was quiet, serene and nearly perfect. Magic. Pure Magic. While Stephanie and her family have stayed at Conestoga Ranch before, this was my first time.My husband and I have been talking extensively about what

Bear Lake Monster Winterfest Plunge | Bear Lake

Are we crazy? Perhaps. Did we sign up for this willingly? Why, yes, we did. Was it cold? You. Betcha. Frozen, even while all bundled up. For a few brief moments I thought, I don't have to do this, I can just leave. But nope. Locke and I jumped into Bear Lake as the snow was slowly falling around. It was so cold, I can't say it was refreshing. Right after you jump in, you trudge as fast as you possibly can through the water to the shore and run into the heated trailer. Since I was a first timer

Summit Inn Pizza | Garden City

There are only a few places to eat in Garden City in the winter and we are lucky that Summit Inn Pizza was one of them. We had never been but heard that the we should go to try the Doodles. We had no idea what they were but OH MY GOODNESS! They were amazing! Its kind of like garlic bread in the shape of a cinnamon roll filled with cheese. SO GOOD! We ended up getting a second order to go! These guys are locally owned and operated by the sweetest family #supportlocal The pizza was delicious. Our 4
