Free Beach in Garden City | 12 Utah Staycations

On our last day at Conestoga Ranch, we decided that we needed to end our trip with another bike ride to Bear Lake! We got everyone on their bikes and bike 1 mile to a Free Beach in Garden City. We seriously love that Conestoga Ranch has complimentary bikes for their visitors! It was a beautiful day! The kids hiked up their pants and waded quite far out into blue Bear Lake. We saw a bunch of pelicans fly by too! It was the perfect way to end our Staycation at Bear Lake and Conestoga Ranch! Don't forget, we've got

Paris Tabernacle in Idaho | 12 Utah Staycations

Stephanie mentioned that she wanted to visit the Paris Springs in Idaho (30 minutes from Conestoga Ranch) so we picked up our picnic lunches from Campfire Grill and headed out! Stephanie and Dan weren't quite sure where we were heading and our GPS took us on the wrong road to Bloomington (which we've been to before.) so we ended up driving around Paris for a hot minute. As we were driving through Paris, we saw the giant building and thought it looked like the perfect place for our picnic! Perfect place and DELICIOUS FOOD! Campfire Grill does not disappoint! Everyone

Kayaking Bear Lake | 12 Utah Staycations

We were super excited to try Kayaking Bear Lake! It was an overcast day, but that didn't phase us. We rented Kayak's from Epic Adventures Rentals on the South Side of Bear Lake. Since the sky was turning darker by the moment, we decided just to kayak around the docking area, in case the wind picked up. The kids loved it. We didn't even have to go far, good thing too, because we saw lightning in the distance and really dark clouds rolling in. We decided to call it quits but vow to come kayaking again when it's sunny! As

Bike Ride to Garden City Park from Conestoga | 12 Utah Staycations

One of our favorite activities at Conestoga Ranch is the BIKES! We're super excited to team up with Conestoga Ranch and share all about our experience. Conestoga Ranch has bikes for almost everyone! There are tandem bikes, bikes with training wheels, kid bikes, cruisers all sorts of bikes. (Don't forget your helmet and to sign the waiver!) Seems like bike rides have been our new thang in each Staycation! I'll admit, they've quickly become one of my favorite activities. I've mentioned it before, but there is something totally magical about biking through a town. There's a WHOLE different feel to

Roadside Oddities Around Bear Lake | 12 Utah Staycations

We really haven't spent much time around Bear Lake, we've spent even less time going around Bear Lake. In fact, we've NEVER gone all the way around Bear Lake. Since it was rainy, we decided that now was the time to take the drive! We got word that there was a Shoe House in St. Charles Idaho (the other side of Bear Lake) so of COURSE, we had to go! We had just finished up Kayaking and Bear Lake looked so blue that day. So here are just a few fun things we found on our drive ALL the WAY

Hobbit Caves | 12 Utah Staycations

This is THE COOLEST hike if you can call it a hike. Basically, you park right next to a river, cross the river and you are at your destination, the Hobbit Caves! Both Harmony and Stephanie are barely 5' tall, so we felt right at home here in HOBBITON. Of course, after you explore the caves, you can follow the trail along the river for quite a ways. We didn't track how far it goes back but we did explore all over the area. Getting down to the river is a little steep but totally doable. We had 3 adults

Limber Pine Trail | 12 Utah Staycations

This is an awesome hike for littles! Which means it was very enjoyable for Harmony and I. Happy kids means happy moms! It's a simple 1.3 mile loop with 13 signs along the way that talk about the area. Educational bonus points for this one. And speaking of educational, when my kids got out of the car I took one look at them and said "y'all look like you're homeschooled"! It's ok, I can say that because we indeed homeschool, we just don't usually "look" like we homeschool. Always best to get a group photo "before" the hike. May 30th
