The Colosseum - Raid Zombie Lasertag - Layton

7 October 2021
We LOVE October here at The Salt Project! So many fun things to do this time of year. We were so excited to try something NEW last week. Instead of running from zombies in a corn maze or haunted house, The Colosseum gives you a laser gun to actually defend yourself from zombies the zombies! It's like they dropped you into the movie I Am Legend, or a real life game of Halo! It's a mix of that AND an escape room because you are on a mission and have to follow the clues to win. It is called a
Fly High’s Flyghtmares - Spooky trampoline park

One of our family's favorite fall tradition is going to Flyghtmares at Fly High. It's a spooky spin on their favorite trampoline park. The ropes course is turned into a spook alley, the lights are low, fog rolls down the stairs, and there are pumpkins and goblins around every corner. It is definitely kid friendly, not too scary for littles, and you don't have to worry about anyone jumping out to scare you if thats not your thing. It is decorated to the MAX! Every turn has something fun for the kids to play on and explore. And we love

Man. It is HOT outside! This Staycation felt a little different because we did quite a bit inside, but we aren't complaining! Plus, it RAINED again?! This summer sure has been weird. The Rush Funplex is the BIGGEST indoor playground in Utah! You literally could spend HOURS here. We were there for 3 hours and barely scratched the surface! We started out with some good old fashioned bowling. We don't bowl very often and the kid LOVED it. We missed it, but there is galactic bowling at the very opposite end. Especially the little ones. There is something super fun

How many of you have been to The George S. and Dolores Dore Eccles Wildlife Education Center at Farmington Bay? It's a mouthful, but one of our favorite places to visit, especially in the winter months. Thanks to Davis County for teaming up with the Salt Project so we can show off this sweet place! Since we were heading out to Antelope Island, we knew we needed to stop by the newly remodeled center! We actually visited years ago here, before the new building. We love the new center though. There's a few buildings + AC (!!!) and a learning

This nature center is a favorite. Spring and fall are the best and the trails are all stroller friendly. But they are not paved so make sure you have a good stroller. There are several bridges and walkways through the marsh land. Owl pellets everywhere. We love the new buildings! Especially with the grass on the roof. They have binoculars available to use in the building. You can see a lot of birds from inside but you can see more out on the trails so we recommend taking your own. We have these ones. Super inexpensive but still work great

Many of you suggested visiting the Museum when we asked what to do. I’m so glad you told us about the Museum. This was probably one of the most eclectic museums I’ve been too. Much of it was historic, pioneer themed, and then some of it was local artists and sculptures. There were so many weird/interesting newspaper articles and photos all over. The kids favorite part was the old telephones. There was even a super old switchboard, telephone booth, and a bunch of fun spin phones. We loved the mix at the Museum, it’s definitely a fun stop if you
Storm Bowling Ball Tour

A few weeks ago we headed to Brigham City to do some exploring, more importantly, we went to Storm Bowling Factory. My friend works there and told me they did tours. You know we love random tours. We booked an appointment with Zach and headed to Brigham. When you walk in you are immediately impressed with the amounts of ALL the bowling balls on display. They even have some vintage bowling ball displays. (Don’t let the kids play with them…we learned that the wrong way.) We couldn’t actually take pictures of the actual process of the bowling ball being made

We were lucky enough to partner up with Fly High Trampoline Park in Ogden this past weekend! I decided at a very last moment to have my husband's birthday party there. I'll admit, he seemed a little ... embarrassed (?) silly (?) that I booked him a birthday party complete with matching plates, balloons, and friends. But hello! It's a Birthday Party! He got over the silly feeling once he saw how AWESOME this place was! Everybody in the Birthday Party gets trampoline socks and a colored wristband and 1.5 hours of jumping time. Plus we got to have our

Every year on their birthdays we give our kids the option to have a big party with their friends or to get a nice gift from us. Almost every year they choose a party and I love it! This year my son was turning 11, which means he is in those awkward tween years where he isn’t quite old enough to just hang out or go out on his own with friends and yet he’s also too old to want to rent out a bounce house and have the neighborhood over for cake and ice cream. So we thought through
