Ophir Historic District | 12 Utah Staycations

While planning our RV Trip, I called up my friend Chamaine from Wandering Families to see what cool things to visit. She gave me plenty of places to visit and Ophir Ghost Town is one of them! Ophir was a mining town that was founded in 1870 when silver was found. As soon as that silver dried up, everyone left. There are a few souls who still live there and I don't blame them. Donner-Reed Museum | 12 Utah Staycations

After sleeping at Bonneville Seabase we decided to check out one last roadside oddity in Grantsville, The Donnor-Reed Museum! For those of you who don't know why the Donnor-Reed Museum is such an oddity, basically, this pioneer caravan is known, for one thing, cannibalism. We couldn't help ourselves. We knew this was a stop that had to be made. You have to call ahead and see if one of the local volunteers is available to give you a tour.
