Canyon Overlook Trail | 12 Utah Staycations

During our last visit to Zion, we used the FREE shuttle system so I didn't even know about the other side of Zion National Park. There is an awesome tunnel that is over a mile long that you can drive through. Right as you exit the tunnel, start searching for a parking spot. There is a small parking lot to the right, and parking along the road to the left. This overlook hike is basically a mini Angels Landing. It's a short hike, about 30 minutes, and the views are incredible. There are some steep cliffs so keep the littles

Secret Petroglyphs Hike | Zion National Park

Have you heard about the Secret Petroglyphs Hike in Zion National Park? We've actually written about them briefly before, but we hadn't done it with our kids. Since we were down at Zion Ponderosa Ranch a few weeks ago, we figured we probably should make another visit. One important thing I've learned about traveling with young kids is that maps are important. So are pamphlets, especially if they have animals or other pictures to look at. Canyon Overlook Trail | Southern Utah

I’ve written about how my husband grew up in Southern Utah, thus creating this problem of finding a hike he hasn’t done in the past. But I’ve finally done it. Rather, the ladies at Zion Ponderosa Resort have done it. When we were checking in, I asked for any insider information on hikes for the East Entrance of Zion. This is the hike my husband has never done

Zion Ponderosa Resort Winter Staycation

Remember how we gave away a winter retreat to Zion Ponderosa for our Birthday a few weeks ago? Well, The Salt Project just got back, and we’re excited to share our little Staycation Partnership with Zion Ponderosa Resort with you! We’ll be reporting on Zion National Park, St. George’s latest park, Hikes, some new summer (because we were in St. George) bucketlist items and of course rocks. (If you know me at all, you know I love rocks.) You may also recall our Instagram post about this sweet Purple Subaru that we drove around too. Did you see us? We

Christmas Day at Zion Ponderosa

I've been thinking about this past Christmas quite a bit lately. Mainly, because I was thinking how much I liked it this year. I mean, I like it every year, but this year seemed extra fun because of our visit to Zion Ponderosa. Growing up, my family would have multiple "Christmas Days." My dad is an airline pilot, so he isn't always home on the traditional Christmas Day. Sometimes, we would have Christmas before the true date, some times after. Plus, my mom would put together a little Christmas on Christmas Day, but we'd wait for the majority to celebrate
