So many places so go, only a few short days to visit! While in Vernal, many of the locals told us that Red Canyon Visitor Center was a MUST. We now know why. It truly is one of the most amazing views. I love mid-century style EVERYTHING. So when you walk up to the visitor center that's all you see. Once you walk inside though!! That view is CRAZY cool. A boat was going down the river and making the most beautiful lines. Right outside the Visitor Center is a scenic walk. We took a short 5 minute walk to
You know we love roadside oddities here at The Salt Project. Need we say more. So we were thrilled to find McConkie Ranch just outside of Vernal on our last day in town. Everything seems totally normal until... ... until you pull into the parking lot. That's when things get super amazing! I'm mean, we were in oddity heaven as we started exploring this place. They even had a lizard in the shack. Nice touch McConkie Ranch. Equally parts creepy and charming. The ranch is privately owned by a sweet couple that also cares for the grounds and allows the
Flaming Gorge Dam has a free tour and it was one of the highlights of our Vernal Staycation! I can't recall ever doing the tour before and I have vague memories of maybe driving across the dam, but I'm not even sure. When chatting with the locals of Vernal we asked them which would you if you only had time for one. "Would you go to Fantasy Canyon or Flaming Gorge?" Everybody said Flaming Gorge! (We see you Fantasy Canyon, we'll be back for you.) On our way home, we decided to make the hour long drive and head up
Downtown Vernal is so charming! And if that wasn't enough, they planted a billion flowers (2,000 flower pots to just to make it down right dreamy. Walking downtown is a must. So much to see within a few blocks. Heritage Museum is FREE and is a great spot to beat the heat or hide on a rainy day. They had some great activities for kids. This park had some awesome murals and fountains for the kids. Flowers everywhere! Vernal is known for their amazing flowers. They are hard to miss. 4 brother's Pizza has the best Italian ice in town
On our last day at Conestoga Ranch, we decided that we needed to end our trip with another bike ride to Bear Lake! We got everyone on their bikes and bike 1 mile to a Free Beach in Garden City. We seriously love that Conestoga Ranch has complimentary bikes for their visitors! It was a beautiful day! The kids hiked up their pants and waded quite far out into blue Bear Lake. We saw a bunch of pelicans fly by too! It was the perfect way to end our Staycation at Bear Lake and Conestoga Ranch! Don't forget, we've got
Stephanie mentioned that she wanted to visit the Paris Springs in Idaho (30 minutes from Conestoga Ranch) so we picked up our picnic lunches from Campfire Grill and headed out! Stephanie and Dan weren't quite sure where we were heading and our GPS took us on the wrong road to Bloomington (which we've been to before.) so we ended up driving around Paris for a hot minute. As we were driving through Paris, we saw the giant building and thought it looked like the perfect place for our picnic! Perfect place and DELICIOUS FOOD! Campfire Grill does not disappoint! Everyone
One of our favorite activities at Conestoga Ranch is the BIKES! We're super excited to team up with Conestoga Ranch and share all about our experience. Conestoga Ranch has bikes for almost everyone! There are tandem bikes, bikes with training wheels, kid bikes, cruisers all sorts of bikes. (Don't forget your helmet and to sign the waiver!) Seems like bike rides have been our new thang in each Staycation! I'll admit, they've quickly become one of my favorite activities. I've mentioned it before, but there is something totally magical about biking through a town. There's a WHOLE different feel to

Nature Hills Farm is a sweet little farm in Cedar City that's family owned and open to the public! We took a self-guided tour around the property. Perfect little pit stop on our way out of town from Cedar City. The only drawback is that our GPS took us through the smallest tunnel known to man. I was seriously having a panic attack as we drove through it.

Right outside of The El Rey Inn & Suites is the local Farmers Market of Cedar City. It’s open every Saturday and tucked away in a super cute spot of the parking lot. We loved the small town vibe and all the local produce. It was so charming. I would have totally had a picnic there. Be sure to say Hi to Heather at Nature Hills Farm and The Honey Guy! Random, there’s a traveling Axe company called The Hatch Ax Games that was there too. It was super fun!
