Epic PROVO Bucket list

Utah County has been on our bucket list for years! We alway pass by but we have never made it a destination to stay and explore. I'm SO glad we finally made it down to explore. First off, we have to say that Provo exceeded all expectations. The small town charm, creativity, and endless number of places to eat and things to do, it would take weeks to fit it all in. We have compiled a list with the BEST OF THE BEST that Utah County has to offer. Now, remember, we only stayed for a weekend, and you can

5 things to add to your Sundance SUMMER Bucket List

Sundance in the Summer is so beautiful! We have only been here in the fall for the Haunted Lift ride & Zip Line. So it was nice to go up without coats and jackets and really just enjoy the beautiful mountains and scenery. We enjoyed three awesome activities while spending the day at Sundance. All were kid friendly, but would also make for an incredible date idea too. #1 RIDING THE SKI LIFT First up, we took the lift to the tippy top of the mountain. The sun was warm and the breeze was cool, we couldn't have picked a

The Wick Lab

Ok, we heard there was a place in town where you can make candles, I thought that sounded fun and knew the kids would enjoy it so we gave The Wick Lab a try. It was so cute inside! Every little detail was perfect. They are owned by the sweetest little family and you can tell how much love they have poured into this little shop. They have 100 scents to smell and choose from. Then you pick your favorites and smell them together to make sure thats what you want. They walk you through the entire process from placing

Elf the Musical at Tuacahn Amphitheatre

We were in Southern Utah for Thanksgiving Break, and was able to kick-off Christmas by viewing of Elf the Musical at Tuacahn Amphitheatre! Elf The Musical is now playing at the newly renovated Hafen Theatre (their indoor theatre) at Tuacahn! You know The Salt Project loves Tuacahn! We were super excited to hear that they had Christmas shows! All the kids (and cousins) had just watched Elf the movie a few days ago. I'll admit, I was a little hesitant. Don't hate me, but I've only seen Elf the movie once and didn't care for it much. But I LOVE

Topaz Internment Camp Site | 12 Utah Staycations

We headed out to the Topaz Internment Camp Site just outside of Delta on Sunday morning. While there isn't much out there, I really wanted to see for myself where the Japanese people were moved too. Since I had already cried the day before at the Topaz Museum, I felt much more prepared for the site itself. There was a sort of tragic beauty to the place. Nothing for miles, desert, sagebrush. I tried to envision thousands of people behind fences and living their lives as best they could. I probably would have failed and been bitter. You can drive

Great Basin Museum | 12 Utah Staycations

We were headed to the Topaz Museum in Delta and stumbled across the Great Basin Museum which just happens to be next door. So, of course, we stopped in. They had some awesome glow in the dark rocks, a train set, and some awesome old stuff. We only have about 10 minutes to look around, so we didn't get to experience the full museum, but this place is definitely worth the visit if you are passing through town. They also handed out free obsidian to the kids, which they were all thrilled about! Right next door is the Topaz Museum

Topaz Internment Museum | 12 Utah Staycations

The Topaz Museum in Delta is a beautiful tribute to those who suffered at the Japanese Internment Camps. While I don't know anyone personally from the Topaz camp, my grandmother was sent to an internment camp in Arkansas. She never talked about it, not really in detail, no one did. It was something the Japanese people didn't talk about. My husband and I were trying to explain to our kids what the internment camps were and it sounded stupid to say "Grandma was sent there because she was Japanese." What else could we say? My grandma was a young woman

Ophir Historic District | 12 Utah Staycations

While planning our RV Trip, I called up my friend Chamaine from Wandering Families to see what cool things to visit. She gave me plenty of places to visit and Ophir Ghost Town is one of them! Ophir was a mining town that was founded in 1870 when silver was found. As soon as that silver dried up, everyone left. There are a few souls who still live there and I don't blame them. Ophir is LOVELY. There are a few free things to see. You can tell the locals take serious pride in their town. There are mining decorations

The Bug House | 12 Utah Staycations

If you've been following along on our RV Staycation, you know that we love rocks. I mean, we just visited the Dugway Geode Beds and U-Dig Fossils, so it only seemed natural to visit an actual rock shop! We visited the Bug House in Delta. It's locally owned and mines many of their own rocks! We were able to check out the shop and purchase some rocks (because you know I can't say no to rocks. Ever.) We saw behind the scenes where all the cutting, polishing and grit happens in a rock shop. It was super cool to find
