When we partnered up with Play in Davis, I'll admit, we were a little worried, worried we couldn't do Davis County the justice it deserved! There are so many epic things to do in Davis County and because we live here, we think we've done it all. Wrong. While we have done LOTS of things in Davis County, we've never hiked the Indian Princess Grave before! (thanks to John from Love Letters for sharing this gem with us.) We headed back to a familiar spot for the trailhead of the Indian Princess Grave, the Farmington Pond Parking Lot. We literally
For our Davis Staycation, we stayed at The Hyatt Place in Farmington Station and it was amazing! Here are a few reasons why! It's fancy. It's fancy, but also kid-friendly, so it's a win-win! Kid-Friendly. There are some hotels that really aren't kid-friendly, but we're happy to report that the Hyatt Place is extremely kid-friendly! Swimming Pool! I'm sure we've all had our kids say "Can't we just swim at the pool." No matter where you are in the world, all the kids want to do is swim right? Delicious Breakfast. While it's not included with your stay, it's totally
Francis Peak | 12 Utah Staycations harm Wed, 07/17/2019 - 18:34
What screams Davis County more than Francis Peak? Or better known to the locals as the "Golf Balls!" We were staying at the Hyatt at Farmington Station for our Staycation and you have the perfect view of the Golf Balls. When I first brought up the idea to Stephanie, she was slightly terrified. The drive up is not for the faint of heart. The dirt road is windy and sometimes it's one way. It's actually the reason the Car Graveyard Hike exists. If you can make it all the way to the top, it's all worth the fright. The view
Farmington Lake | 12 Utah Staycations harm Wed, 07/17/2019 - 18:34
On our way back from Francis Peak we decided to make one more stop, we had to find the Farmington Flats Ponds (actually called Farmington Lake)! Stephanie had camped up in Farmington Canyon a few years ago and wanted to go find the ponds (which come to find out is actually a lake) again. If you don't take the left to Francis Peak, you'll find yourself coming to the Bountiful Peak Campgrounds and if you go even further, you'll find Farmington Lake. The water was pretty crystal clear and cool! Baby Wells took no time just going right in. If
OLD GRIST MILL in Kaysville is family-owned. They go in early to make fresh bread every day! We thought they would be perfect for sack lunch since it was the hottest day of the year. We wanted something fresh and light. We picked it up and brought it into Cherry Hill, luckily, Harmony brought the BOB stroller to carry it all. It was a bit of a balancing act, but we got it to our shady spot in the trees. Drinks too! All sandwiches are made to order, you pick every single item you want on it. We just called
Cherry Hill! It's been around for over 50 years! What started out as a farm, then a place to camp and then a theme park has become quite the Davis County Icon. We're super excited to team up with Play in Davis to giveaway a whole Staycation + tickets to Cherry Hill! One of the best parts about Cherry Hill is that there is a spot for everyone to have fun! We took turnes going on the tube rides (without the kids) because we loved it! Even the adults have things to do. My husband kept saying how we had
Another Davis County favorite, Burly Burger serves em' up right! They also cook em' up fresh and fast. Crazy fast. Live long the Farley. Buffalo chicken atop a massive burger with blue cheese. Bring it on! And our first time trying a salad, definitely getting this again! And you can't leave without an amazing shake to dip your amazing fries in. Burly Burger, it's always a pleasure devouring your burgers, or at least giving it our best effort at devouring them. Thanks for hosting us for our last supper during our Davis County Staycation.
The George S. and Dolores Dore Eccles Wildlife Education Center at Farmington Bay | 12 Utah Staycations
How many of you have been to The George S. and Dolores Dore Eccles Wildlife Education Center at Farmington Bay? It's a mouthful, but one of our favorite places to visit, especially in the winter months. Thanks to Davis County for teaming up with the Salt Project so we can show off this sweet place! Since we were heading out to Antelope Island, we knew we needed to stop by the newly remodeled center! We actually visited years ago here, before the new building. We love the new center though. There's a few buildings + AC (!!!) and a learning
On our way out to Antelope Island State Park, we saw the strangest thing... Angry Birds and Crazy Pigs! We've actually driven past these for years and finally stopped. The kids thought they were hilarious!

We're super excited to share Davis County with you! We've partnered up with Play in Davis to giveaway this epic Staycation, so be sure to enter here. We're going to start things off with Utah's most iconic thing; The Great Salt Lake! It's actually been a while since the Salt Project has visited the Great Salt Lake in the summer. Because that summer Utah heat is brutal. Sometimes those biting gnats are so awful, but lucky for us, they apparently are gone for now! (We totally checked before visiting.) First things first, FOOD. We did take-out from The Bird in
