Utah Children's Theatre Summer Camps!

How is it July ALREADY?! Sheesh! My kids just finished their first EVER Summer Camp. It was also our very first time to Utah Children's Theatre. We've seen many posts from Stephanie about UTC, but my kids have never been quite old enough to attend. So when Utah Children's Theatre reached out about partnering, I knew my kids would love to do summer camp! Since we live in Ogden, we decided to do a two-day camp themed "Once upon a time." I would have really liked to sign the kids up for Jedi camp for next week, but it just

Homeschool Acting Class with Utah Children’s Theater

My children tried something completely new and out of the box for us earlier this year: acting classes! I’ve never taken a day of drama or acting classes in my life, so when the opportunity came up for two of my girls to join a homeschool acting class at the Utah Children’s Theater, I was really intrigued. The girls were game, so I signed them up. The homeschool format allows kids ages 5-18 to participate in the same class, which is actually really awesome for kids of all ages to learn from each other. My girls are naturally a bit

UCT’s 2017 Shakespeare Festival

I performed in a couple of musicals and taught children’s music classes while pregnant with my first son. Everyone joked that he would enter the world singing and dancing. While we do have some epic kitchen dance parties and sing-alongs in our home, at two years old it’s still too early to tell if he inherited my love for being on stage. Regardless if he becomes a performer or not, I do hope he will develop an appreciation for the arts. The Utah Children’s Theatre is a wonderful place to introduce children to live theater. Every Saturday now through September

Anne of Green Gables

This weekend is your last chance to catch Anne of Green Gables. Their final shows will be Friday at 7:00pm and Saturday at 1:00 and 4:30pm. If you can't make it out this weekend, they will be starting their next show, which is The Wizard of Oz on December 10th. I highly recommend either one of these classics! Or we just discovered that they offer a cool ticket package that I am eyeing for kids' for Christmas. Rather than a full season pass to their shows, their new 3 show package gets you tickets to their final three shows of

Utah Children's Theatre Summer Camps | Salt Lake City

Our 7-year-old was fortunate enough to get invited to attend one of the Utah Children's Theatre's summer camps. She attended last year as well and was so excited to go again this year! They offer a wide variety of camps all summer long with a half day or full day option. Each session has a different theme and some cover different types of performing, from stage acting to musical performance to improv, so be sure to check out their schedule online. My daughter attended the Fairy Tales and Fables camp in the morning and On Broadway Voice camp in the

Utah Children's Theatre | Adventures of Tom Sawyer

The Utah Children's Theatre invited us out to see their last show of the season, and as soon as my kids found out what it was they were begging to go. A few months ago my oldest boy (9) tried to read The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, but even though he could read it, the way they spoke made it hard for him to understand so it turned into a family read aloud instead and all my kids got a huge kick out of hearing all of Tom's antics and adventures. Thus, they were all excited to see the live

Utah Children's Theatre | Amelia Bedelia

It is no secret that our family loves The Utah Children's Museum down in Salt Lake. My kids have really come to love live theater over the past year and we've now been to a number of their shows since we first discovered them on a field trip with the kids' school. This month we went down and they hosted us at a showing of their Amelia Bedelia play that runs for the next two weeks. I grew up on Amelia Bedelia and at some point we have acquired multiple Amelia Bedelia books at our house that my kids love

Utah Children's Theatre | Peter Pan

During the kids' winter break from school we decided to take them to go see a play at the Utah Children's Theatre. Ever since I took our daughter to see Snow White there last month for a girl's night out, all my other kids have been asking to go, so we decided to have them host us for a showing of Peter Pan this time. When we got there we discovered that they now offer gift cards, which would have been so nice last month when I was trying to gift tickets to my niece for her birthday without knowing
