Lisel is here to tell us all about the newest park and splash pad in Vineyard Utah! Summer is winding down, but there are still plenty of hot days ahead! We went to check out the new Vineyard splash pad and it was awesome! It is the largest splash pad in Utah County on 18 acres of land. On this land there is also bike trails, pickle ball and tennis courts, a soccer field, basketball hoops, a pavilion, zip lines, and a ropes course style playground. ​Our favorite part about this splash pad was the slide! Alex is here to tell us about one of her favorite year round hikes with kids! Read on to see how she loves to hike during each season. Big Springs Hollow trail is a wonderful treasure that my good friend, Joey introduced me to a couple of years ago. It's a fantastic trail for little kids, even toddlers with a little hand holding, because there's no drop-off and the trail is mostly flat. I don't know about you, but I find it so difficult getting my kids outside to burn off energy during the late Fall and Winter months! It's dark by 5pm! The first splash pad in Orem is now open! The official ribbon-cutting ceremony was Tuesday. We have been frequenting splash pads this summer, especially with how hot it has been, and this is one of our favorites so far! There are shade structures, rock seats, and and several nozzles that spray and shut off on a repeating program. My 18-month old loved running through the shallow rivers! The splash pad is located in Palisade park- right next to a playground, covered pavilion, and snack shack. According to a city spokesman, the design of the splash pad reflects the surrounding area

I recently was down in Orem, UT doing some shopping at University Place when I stumbled upon their new community park, The Orchard. Located near the North entrance of the shopping center, this outdoor park hosts monthly events for the whole family! Many fun events are planned for the month of July, like outdoor music concerts, a Western Family Night, a free outdoor movie (July's movie is Sing) and Pioneer Day Pyromusical! The Weather is good, school is out and I know we are all looking for fun things to fill our days with! I personally love being outside, especially with my kids! During the summer we all feel better and treat each other better if we go outside, it must be all that vitamin D we are getting! Some of our favorite pastimes are hiking, biking, picnics and parks! I can't resist a good bakery, which is why I wanted to take my kids to the Chocolate Dessert Cafe in Orem. (Check out their West Jordan location too.) I'd visited this place once about five years ago, when a friend of mine invited my family and me to a birthday party for her daughter there.
