Carver's Cove Petting Farm

I don't know how your summer is going but has anyone else's kids been sick forever!! It's kind of maddening. One kid gets it and everyone after that. It goes on for weeks. Luckily, my sister asked if we wanted to go for a drive. It's the perfect thing to do with one baby getting over sickness + her older brother and sister who just started getting sick. We drove up to Causey Reservoir and I seriously wished everyone felt better, the water was calling us. In the end, we drove all the around Pineview Reservoir and happened upon Carver's

Fishing the Twenty-First Street Pond in Ogden

You may recall me lamenting about fishing with kids. Just a few months after going to Cold Springs Trout Farm, my kids have turned completely around. Suddenly, they love fishing and suddenly, they love just sitting there waiting for the fish to bite! In their defense, maybe I've just expected them to be horrible while fishing. Maybe it was the location or maybe it was the fact they had their own little fishing poles. We went fishing at the Twenty First Street Pond in Ogden. We've fished this pond many times before, with no luck. For the first time in

Fly High Trampoline Park | Ogden harm Mon, 03/05/2018 - 12:25
We were lucky enough to partner up with Fly High Trampoline Park in Ogden this past weekend! I decided at a very last moment to have my husband's birthday party there. I'll admit, he seemed a little ... embarrassed (?) silly (?) that I booked him a birthday party complete with matching plates, balloons, and friends. But hello! It's a Birthday Party! He got over the silly feeling once he saw how AWESOME this place was! Everybody in the Birthday Party gets trampoline socks and a colored wristband and 1.5 hours of jumping time. Plus we got to have our

Biking with my kids on a Yuba Bike

Hey Guys! Just wanted to drop in one more time before Christmas. We've partnered up with Yuba Bikes to tell you ALL about the newest member of our family: The Sweet Cury Cargo Bike! We've managed to squeeze in three short bike rides in the days of 40 degree weather. The kids and I are SERIOUSLY bummed that spring is SO far away. Flash Back A few months ago, I was at the park with the kids and in rode this rockstar mom with 3 kids on her bike! I was blown away. I couldn't believe she had just ridden

Odettes for the Holidays | Good Company Theatre

The Salt Project was able to view The Odettes last Saturday night at Good Company Theaters' new space on Wall Street. We first saw it 3 years ago, when we were just starting The Salt Project. Seems like so long ago! This time I took my mom and Aunt for a little girl time. The Odettes (Della, Dori, Reggie and Woody) were a popular 1960s singing group that returned to their hometown for a Holiday reunion. The first few minutes of the show were a little slow, but once all three of the Odettes starting singing "Oh, Holy Night" we

Eccles Dinosaur Park Carnivore Carnival

We went to the Halloween Carnivore Carnival at the Eccles Dinosaur Park and had such a great time! It was really fun to get to visit the park at night, as this is the only time of the year that you can. The whole place was lit up with nearly 5,000 strands of colored lights and Halloween decorations and the whole atmosphere was fantastic! There were plenty of activities happening to keep the kids engaged and entertained from dinosaur trick or treating, carnival games, craft projects, ghost photography, hot chocolate (which was so perfect as it was quite chilly that

Bench Hike in Ogden

The other day I looked at the mountains and realized they were changing color. We were going out of town the next day, but I knew I'd probably miss walking through the leaves if I didn't go that day. So I packed up the girls, dog, took my main little man to preschool and ran up to the trails. I only had two hours before preschool ended so I knew we had to boogie it. I accidently left my phone at home, so I was hoping we could time it just right. Aiko (4) wasn't that excited about it, until

Cold Springs Trout Farm

Why is it soooooooo HOT?! I've been aching to do some hiking, but it's just too hot by the time we get out the door. So instead, I'll dream about fishing at Cold Springs Trout Farm in North Ogden. Fish are always cool from a distance. This is the perfect place to fish right after school or later in the evening. Do you have a favorite place to take your kids fishing? See our past post with more tips here. #TheSaltProject if you go! We want to see.
