The Bar Method - 2 WEEKS FREE

Ok ladies, I have to start off by saying that I have always admired people that do Barre workouts but always felt a bit intimidated by it. I'm not a ballerina, I'm not flexible, and I'm pretty average when it comes to physical activity abilities. So when The Bar Method reached out to invite me to a class I was both thrilled and a little scared. I recruited a couple of girl friends as one does when trying something new (always better to experience it with a friend) and we scheduled a time to leave the kids home with the

The Robot Zoo | Swaner Preserve and EcoCenter | 12 Utah Staycations

One of our favorite places to visit in Park City is the Swaner Preserve and EcoCenter! Every time we are in the area, we always stop by. It's a beautiful LEED building and always has fun activities to visit. Most of the Preserve is free to visit and sometimes there are rotating exhibits that have admission costs. The Robot Zoo (Sept. 14 - Jan. 5 + Admission) is in town right now and it's AWESOME. The Robot Zoo has some pretty sweet hands-on exhibits. I was super impressed with the animatronics. It's kind of steampunk meets mother nature and it's

Camping at Dugway Geode Beds | 12 Utah Staycations

Since we had already driven 50 miles out to the Geode Beds, hitchhiked out to the Geode Beds, we thought, why not just camp right where we parked?! So we did! We had packed hotdogs, sandwich meats, s' mores, and snacks, so we were ready to go! We brought the firewood out and started a fire. It was fairly windy so we created a wagon circle with our RVs to help block out the wind. It was a beautiful night. The kids pulled out their bikes and scooters and rode around while we were getting the fire going. After some
Great Basin Museum | 12 Utah Staycations harm Tue, 10/29/2019 - 10:15
We were headed to the Topaz Museum in Delta and stumbled across the Great Basin Museum which just happens to be next door. So, of course, we stopped in. They had some awesome glow in the dark rocks, a train set, and some awesome old stuff. We only have about 10 minutes to look around, so we didn't get to experience the full museum, but this place is definitely worth the visit if you are passing through town. They also handed out free obsidian to the kids, which they were all thrilled about! Right next door is the Topaz Museum

Saratoga Hot Springs | 12 Utah Staycations

The first time I heard about these hot springs was last Oct 2018. I was participating in the Questival Race and one of our challenges was to jump into a natural hot spring. It was late, dark, and FREEZING! We parked, changed into swimmers, ran down the path in the dark, had no idea what we were jumping into, stayed for a minute and then ran back to the car so we could compete another challenge. I wasn't planning on visiting again in October, but this time we were equip with light so we could actually see what we were

Meadow Hot Springs | 12 Utah Staycations

Another bucket list item that has been a long time coming, Meadow Hot Springs! Check out our original post HERE for ALL the info. RVing to hot springs is my new favorite thing. It was so nice to be able to have a warm place to go and change after swimming. Harmony's post led us straight to the spot! There are 2 pools but the one with the dock is cooler, and since it was pretty cold we decided to stay put. These springs are pretty deep, so you definitely want floaters for littles. You can stand around the edges

Salt Project RV Packing List | 12 Utah Staycations

We've now been on two RV Trips. (Thanks to Access RV) While this doesn't make us pros, one of our trips was over 10 days cross country while our Utah RV Staycation was 4 days and 3 nights. RVing is basically like camping, you have to bring everything! Even though you might think you are overpacking, you really aren't. I'd say 95% of the stuff we packed this we actually used. So here it is, our Salt Project RV Packing list. Clothes for everyone + a few extra. Light Jackets and Winter Jackets. We like to layer with Patagonia kids

Dugway Geode Beds | 12 Utah Staycations

If you've been following The Salt Project for a while, you know that Harmony loves rocks. Like, a lot. So this RV Staycation's main focus was rockhounding! We had two main spots to visit, the Dugway Geode Beds and U-Dig in Delta. The Dugway Geode Beds are on BLM land and it's free to the public to go and dig! The only hard part is that the Dugway Geode Beds are 51 miles on a dirt road in the middle of nowhere. Not really hard, you just have to be committed. While the road is long and bumpy you do

Kokanee Salmon Run at Porcupine Reservoir 2019

On Monday, my crazy sister asked if I wanted to run up to Porcupine Reservoir and check out the Salmon Run up there. We'd literally just done the Causey Salmon run two days before and I thought, WHY NOT?! So off we went. I called a friend and soon we had 3 adults and 4 kids under the age of three in our car. Porcupine Reservoir is located in Cache County and really isn't that much farther than Causey Reservoir for us. It took us 58 minutes to drive from Ogden to get to Porcupine Reservoir. We drove in as
