Elf the Musical at Tuacahn Amphitheatre

We were in Southern Utah for Thanksgiving Break, and was able to kick-off Christmas by viewing of Elf the Musical at Tuacahn Amphitheatre! Elf The Musical is now playing at the newly renovated Hafen Theatre (their indoor theatre) at Tuacahn! You know The Salt Project loves Tuacahn! We were super excited to hear that they had Christmas shows! All the kids (and cousins) had just watched Elf the movie a few days ago. I'll admit, I was a little hesitant. Don't hate me, but I've only seen Elf the movie once and didn't care for it much. But I LOVE

Picture This Utah Christmas at Trolley Square Discount/Coupon

I'll admit, I wasn't quite ready to embrace the Christmas Spirit but after visiting the new Pop-Up Picture This Christmas at Trolley Square today, I'm ready to embrace it ALL! The kids loved all the activities and I loved all the Christmas music! Each area was a fun, different Christmas theme. We've shown a few pop-ups on The Salt Project, and while Picture This Christmas is a much smaller scale, it's filled with super interactive fun. Of course, everyone LOVED the ball pit! The kids all took turns writing their Christmas Wishes on the wall, with a permanent marker (which

Operation Secret Service Ninjas

A few weeks ago, we found something extra at the Christmas Tree Lot. We had just unloaded all the kids and started walking towards the entrance when my husband found money and then found more and more money on the ground in the parking lot. I asked how much and he simply replied (with a gleam in his eye) " A Lot." We walked through the tree lot to ask around, but no one claimed it. Stephanie had picked up a receipt (for a pretty expensive tree) near the cash, so we were fairly certain that the owner had already

The Odettes | Good Company Theatre

Good Company Theatre is ecstatic to announce the world premiere of Odettes for the Holidays. This festive one-act play with music is a Good Company Theatre original work, including five new songs. After nearly a decade, famed 1960s girl-group The Odettes returns to their hometown for a holiday reunion concert at the Double-Time Lounge, where they got their start. With Christmastime hits like "Tinsel and Mistletoe," "Jingle Jangle," and “Snow Angel,” it's bound to please their adoring fans. For Adelaide "Della" Crawford, Dorinda "Dori" Pendleton, and Regina Johnson, daughter of late original member Deloris Johnson, it is a chance to

Ogden's Christmas Village | Ogden

The longer we live in Ogden, the more and more we love it. It truly is a hidden gem. This Christmas Village has been a tradition in Ogden since 1962. Ogden's Christmas Village has so much to see, do, touch and smell. I feel like these are incredibly important things when taking toddlers ANYWHERE. You can walk right up to each home and peek inside. Each one is so unique. I love how each one has such great detail. We went on Sunday night, so they didn't have the Miniature Train ride going, otherwise Aiko would have loved it! The

Temple Square Christmas Lights | City Creek

One of Stephanie's favorite tradition is visiting the Temple Square Lights. All of her family goes, the cousins, the grandparents, everyone. The lights and the temple are truly a sight to see. It's always worth the trip and the crowds. (There always are large crowds.) Usually, it's freezing. FREEZING, luckily, it was pretty warm this year! Be sure to walk around the temple, visit the Tabernacle and the Reflection Pool. Both of our families love visiting Temple Square, just make sure to bundle up and plan enough time to park and pay enough for parking. (Harmony learned the hard way.)

Christmas Tree Farm

After our Burger Stop and Christmas Light Hay Ride, we decided to check out the tree farm across the road. We got down to the tree business, by starting a game of Hide 'n' Go Seek amongst the trees. The kids may have thought it was cool, but I thought it was magical, in a Narnia movie sort of way. Running through the trees, smelling the pine, giggling whilst trying to find a spot to hide. You know the scene right? At the end? No? Let me assure you. MAGICAL. All we needed was Santa Claus to shout "Ho-Ho-Ho and

Burger Stop Hayrides in The Park | Christmas Activities

Apparently, there has been a little Christmas tradition, in our hometown, that neither of us knew about. It has only been going on for the past 22 years. Burger Stop, Wasatch Rod and Customs Car Club and Layton City provide families with an old fashioned hay ride through Layton City's Christmas lights. (As mentioned earlier, for the past 22 YEARS! Still mind blowing.) There was quite a line when we got there and it was pretty steady the whole time. I heard some rumor that they had 5 different hay rides rotating. Now, we've always gone to see the Layton
