We did this hike for the first time in 2019 with a baby in tow and it has been one of our all time favorite hikes in Utah ever since that day. We have been back multiple times, this time my baby was 8 and we had a few teens and my oldest is 21!
We had the best time! This the the best hike for kids to climb and run and explore. Its just over 6 miles but we always turn around after the 5th slot canyon which is only a couple miles. I took us a couple hrs with lots of stops.
Once you drop into the slot canyon (or you can walk in along a path) near the parking lot, you just follow the river as far as you would like to go.
The trail is pretty flat, there is one spot in the middle that drops down (again, you can walk around) and then it flattens out again.
Water shoes are recommended as you follow the river the entire way, but my boys wore shoes and kept them dry the entire hike by jumping over the river at each crossing.

I'm totally coming back to ride horses here! I'm so obsessed.
