Jamie is here to tell us a little about The White Pine Trailhead! We know it's going to be warm this week, so get out there and do something you wouldn't normally do with your advernturous self!
One of my favorite ways to embrace winter is to get bundled up and just get out there! I love to get into the mountains where the skies are clear and the snow is sparkling white. The White Pine trailhead in Little Cottonwood Canyon right below Alta is a great spot to snowshoe. It has a parking lot and bathroom facilities.
We went off the trail into an open meadow area where the snow was powdery, untouched, and so beautiful. Look for signs for the trailhead on the right side of the road just before you reach Alta.
We rented snow shoes from Ski N' See for $15/day. The most convenient location to Little Cottonwood Canyon is their store on 9400 South in Sandy. They also have locations in Bountiful, Salt Lake, and Fort Union. Be sure to call ahead to make sure they have inventory available and don't forget to reserve kids sizes for your little ones!
