Utah's Oldest Restaurant | Lamb's Grill | Grubbin'

After visiting The Leonardo Museum in Salt Lake City, we were starving!

We wanted something fun and unique to top off our evening out on the town with the kids and I knew just the place! When we walked in, the kids took one look at the bar and asked if we could sit in the wiggly seats.  Lambs Grill granted their request and hosted us to a lovely dinner at the bar. The manager said that they can't even pay people to sit at the bar these days. Back in the 40's it was the best seat in the place and everyone wanted to sit there, but now days everyone wants to sit in the back or in a booth. The back is more private, but the bar was so charming. (ok, the booths were charming too, really, check them out below.)

We settled on sitting at the bar and I'm so glad we did. We were close to the front window and had a great time watching Comic Con Visitors walking by while we ate.

The kids colored and poked each other with crayons while we waited for our food.

Bacon lobster hush puppies? Yes please! Berdee(1) was starving, so she ate half of them all by herself, and the other kids loved them just as much as Dan and I.

The charm of this place is for the books. It really is like a step back in time.

I told you the booths were cute! Next time I'm coming back without kids for a date night and sitting right there. How romantic!

Dan and I usually order two things and share them otherwise I'll be picking at his plate all night to sample everything he has. So we shared the Beet and Fried Goat Cheese Salad and the Chicken Teriyaki Bowl. They split it for us in the kitchen, so we each got our own plates. The portions were huge and we both had left overs.

The boys got pasta, Riz(4) almost cried when he saw it (because it wasn't macaroni), but after his first taste he exclaimed "this is the best macaroni and cheese in the world!"

Breckyn(8) got a burger, surprise surprise. The children portions were huge and the prices were very reasonable.

I can never pass up Creme Brulee. It was perfection.

Next time you are on Main Street in Salt Lake City, be sure to stop by this darling place, they have breakfast and lunch too!
