Utah Olympic Park | Kids 5 to 10 yrs | Adventurin' 1

We weren't quite sure what to expect when we took all of our kids up to Park City to explore Utah's Olympic Park, but each of them found something fun to participate in and left with some amazing memories.

Kids under 5 can really only do the Alpine Slide as a passenger with someone over age 13 riding with them. See our post here for all the details about navigating the park with toddlers.

5-years-old seemed to be the magic age when they could really start to participate in things and we had one little guy that was turning 5 that day and it made for some great birthday memories.

5-7 year olds can do the Alpine Slide as a passenger, Discovery Adventure Course, and Small Extreme Summer Tubing.

7-9 year olds can do the Alpine Slide on their own (if they're over 48" tall), Discovery and Canyon Adventure Course, Small and Medium Extreme Summer Tubing, the Drop Tower and the Freestyle Zipline.

TIP: Ride the Alpine Slide both first and last.

Out of everything the kids could do the Alpine Slide by far had the longest line, so make sure to go there and get in line before they even open. We suggest you get there at 9:00, buy your tickets in the museum and then get in line at the Nordic Chairlift. We also noticed the line died down again at the end of the day, so we let them go again a second time right before we left, just before 6:00.

TIP: Bring a water bottle and backpack.

When you are standing in lines there isn't a whole lot of shade and even while participating in each activity you are heavily exposed to the sun, so be sure to wear a hat or suncreen and pack lots of water. There is a drinking fountain and bathrooms near the Discovery Adventure Course so you can refill bottles throughout the day. You can't bring loose items on most of the attractions, so make sure that you have a small bag that you can put sunglasses, water bottles and hats in.

All the other kids attractions didn't have very long lines at all and the kids were able to participate in those ones multiple times throughout the day.

The kids all claimed the Alpine Slide was the funnest attraction they did all day, but the whole way home they couldn't stop talking about all the challenges they overcame on the adventure courses, so as I mom I thought that was the best thing did!

For a complete overview of our day check out our previous post here or we also made a complete list of all the free things we found to do around the park as well.
