The Leonardo | Field Trippin'

The Leonardo is a favorite in our family, so the kids were thrilled when to be hosted for an evening of Spooky Science last week. Unfortunately we only had 40 minutes to explore because I didn't check their hours before we went. I just saw that there were Spooky Science Experiments at 3:30 and 4:30 on Thursday and assumed that they were open all night, but they close at 5 on weekdays. I was super bummed but it wasn't worth another drive to SLC to come on another night. We decided to make the most of it and ran around like crazy people  trying to explore every exhibit that we could in our short time. 

I guess everyone else in Utah was at soccer practice because we had the entire place to ourselves! 

One of the staff treated us to a Spooky Science experiment making Elephant Toothpaste with a giant explosion of foamy goo. Then we took off running around the museum to explore. We have been here before so we knew exactly where to go to find the new exhibits and we skipped the exhibits that we have seen before. (Check out the other exhibits from our last visit here).

I had to literally drag Dan and the kids away from this wall.

The green screen was my favorite. 

The kids loved this too! You can move the ball on the screen by moving your hand, kind of like the x-box kinect, then the birds follow the ball around the screen.

This giant egg made of sticks was pretty magical. And it smelled incredible inside.

We had a whirlwind of fun at the museum and we definitely worked up an appetite so we headed straight to Lambs Grill for dinner. They have been in business for 96 years! It's like taking a step back in time and the kids basically thought it was the coolest place ever.
