Big Rock Adventure | 12 Utah Staycations

August 27, 2019

Big Rock Adventure is right along the Sevier River and right across the street from Big Rock Candy Cafe! After eating lunch we walked across the street to sign waivers, put on our closed-toe shoes and do some adventuring!

While waiting for us to sign waivers, the kids played on the playground for a few minutes.

Little did we know that we'd be doing some team-building exercises!

Somehow, we were supposed to get all 14 of us across all these beams to the other side.

We made a super valiant effort, even with Dan carrying baby wells on his back.

We probably really could have made it all the way, but it would have taken us quite a while, especially when you have a bunch of kids under the age of 10.

It was really fun watching everyone work together.

The next step was swinging across.

Somehow, this was harder for the bigger kids and adults than it was for the little people.

Next was cross the river! Over a shady looking bridge and rope! It wasn't really shady, but it was hard than it looked.

Everyone took a turn and some even had to take a few turns. Tiny Aiko kind of froze in the middle so I went and brought her back. It was kind of heartbreaking as a parent to watch Aiko, she really thought it looked fun but then said she got too scared along the way. But Aiko decided to try again with her dad this time and was successful!

See all smiles now!

I can't believe how brave some of the tiny people were! We had kids 4, 5, 6, 8, 11, 14 that went across.

It was awesome watching everyone work together and cheer each on.

After you cross the bridge you can go and climb over the triangle structure too.

Since I was watching from the sidelines with Farah, it was quite an emotional reollercoaster for me. I couldn't have been more proud/sad/happy for everyone. Some of the activities were really trying and it was amazing watching everyone overcome their fears.

Next was the climbing wall and Jacob's ladder.

Riz doesn't normally like crazy activities and yet here he is, climbing over this giant ladder!

Everyone loved Big Rock Adventure!

It was kind of perfect that we got all hot and sweaty, because next up was the Lazy River Family Float!
