Did you know that all Barnes & Noble locations offer a free story time every Saturday morning at 11 am? We visited the Murray location to check out their story time today and it was the perfect way to spend our morning!

At 11 am a Barnes & Noble employee began reading the story “His Royal Dogness” to the small group of kiddos that were gathered near the cute stage area found in the children’s book section. After the story, they had some markers and activity pages that went along with the book for the kiddos to work on. In addition, each child who attends story time gets a free cookie and a coupon for a $4 grilled cheese and drink meal from the café that can be used all month long.

This is such a great way to get out of the house during these cold weather months and I love that it’s a free, weekly event that we can plan on. In addition to the story time, my kiddos love playing on the train tables that are common at the various Barnes and Noble locations so we spent some extra time playing after story time was over.

Be sure to check out the website for the location nearest to you to find out what story is being read each week and make sure to check all the upcoming events because some locations will offer extra story times during the week (Orem does one every Tuesday morning)!

Also, during December they offer a Polar Express, a pajama party with free cocoa and cookies! We’re so glad that Barnes and Noble offer these fun, family-friendly events!
