Alright, so remember how I told October what a glorious month it had been? Well, sheesh, November is rocking it too! (Well, it was, until this Polar Vortex set in.)
Usually, when we've been out to Antelope Island it's so BLASTED hot, you think you want to go and dip yourself into The Great Salt Lake. So, you begin your mile long walk out there (The Great Salt Lake has been super low for years.) and wade through the sea of bugs, which, may be another mile or so still from salty water. If you actually make it past all that, then you get to stick your feet in the brine shrimp infested waters. I make it sounds gross, well, because most of the time it is. I say it's worth it once in your life, because The Great Salt Lake is a phenomenon. If you've done it once, you've probably not done it again, right?
We at The Salt Project have figured it out though. If you go in November, you bypass all the crazy bugs (which in my mind are the absolute worst.) and it wasn't super windy. It's not blazing hot, in fact, we had our kids in shorts and some even in all long sleeves and pants. It was a heavenly temperature. Everything was just right.
Aiko even tried her first sand angel. Which, of course, resulted in sand into all her tiny little knitted crevices.
Stephanie and her crew actually took the long walk to The Great Salt Lake. Again, worth it because there was no bugs!

Senior entrance fee (Utah residents over 62 years of age): $5 per vehicle up to 8 people
Bicycles and Pedestrians: $3 per person
Commercial Groups (over 8 people per vehicle): $3 per person and $5 per bus
Educational Groups: $1 per person with prior reservation
