Tolman Park | Words and Pictures by Brittney

This is Tolman Park but if you want to feel like a local, call it by its original name “Rocket Park”. At first site, this park looks like your typical everyday park. Toys? Check. Pavilion? Check. Bathrooms and drinking foundations? Check and Check. But, don’t let its basic appearance fool you, this park is a dream. It’s nestled in the middle of a gorgeous Bountiful neighborhood. There are literally houses across the street and beautiful trees in every direction.

The toys at Rocket Park are super fun. Two sets of double slides perfect for kiddos races, a spider web climber (my daughter’s personal favorite), a bouncy bridge, stepping stones, spinning monkey bars, hanging monkey bars, peak through window.

It has it all.

Rocket Park also has all the amenities a park should have. Covered pavilion with picnic tables. Clean bathrooms (they were stocked with toilet paper but we didn’t see any soap so make sure you have your hand sanitizer), a drinking fountain, plenty of parking.

The park is pretty fun but my kid’s favorite part is the grove of trees right next to the pavilion. Its been named “The Forest”.

It’s a cute little grove that allows kids to explore and roam freely without danger. I haven’t seen a kid yet that hasn’t loved this place.

We love visiting Tolman “Rocket” Park. It’s one of our personal favorites.

Helpful Tips

The park is located on a corner so there is traffic on two sides of the park (and the park isn’t fenced in). The toys are set back in but when kids start to explore, keep a close eye on them. From our experience, cars slow down and are very mindful of the children at the park.

I recently ran across this park while going to a wedding at the bountiful temple. Unfortunately I didn't have a camera or anything to document the Judson Tolman history on the back of the Park sign. Could you post that for me? Judson Tolman is my husband's line and I think his father would like to see this. I live far away, so it's not possible for me to go back any time soon.
