A new splash pad park just opened in Bluffdale that you are gonna want to add to your Salt Lake City Summer Bucket List. It’s one of Salt Lake County’s new “Destination Parks”. The best part about this new park is that it has a little something for everyone. The splash pad itself is huge! It has a Rocky Mountain nature theme and there are waterfalls to jump through, streams to follow, bigger ponds to play in as well as a lot of water shooting up all over the place. My kids couldn’t stop running to each area of the splash pad (despite the numerous “No Running” signs) because they were so excited. Surrounding the splash pad is green space for sunbathing and covered pavilions with tables.

For those of you concerned about water conservation, don’t worry, the parks department thought of that. The water drained from the splash pad is later used to irrigate the park (after it has been drained and treated).

In addition to the large splash pad, there are two playground areas. The playground area for older children includes a 25-foot watchtower with multiple covered slides, a 20-foot climbing net, and a 300-foot artificial bouldering wall. There are netted climbing areas from the splash pad to the playground area and two racing zip lines

The playground for younger children includes a playhouse that kids can climb on top of or play inside, slides, a sand/water area with a water pump for kids to use, a large tree branch to climb, and musical touch activities. There are also multiple banks of swings for kids of all ages and abilities and various climbing structures.

In addition to the playground and splash pad area, the park includes a walking path, 16 competition pickleball courts, sports fields, and basketball courts. There are three different pavilion areas that you can reserve – two of them seat 80 people and the small pavilion seats 32 people. To make a reservation, visit Salt Lake County's website.

All in all, we were quite impressed with this new park, and we are already planning our next visit. We only stayed for an hour and a half and it wasn’t nearly enough time to enjoy everything!  Let us know what you think, and maybe we’ll see you there!
