Family FUN at The Wick Lab - Draper
Hey there friend! Thanks for stopping by The Salt Project today. We have the funnest activity to share today!
Girls Night, Date Night, Family Night, work party, birthday party, bachelorette party, you name it, The Wick Lab is the perfect place to celebrate or just make some fun memories with your favorite people. And, the best part, you get to take home all those memories wrapped up in a beautiful candle that you will continue to enjoy long after your visit.
They have 2 locations, Provo and their new location in Draper! We visited their Provo location a couple years ago and the kids were begging to come back before we had even left! So when The Wick reached out to invite us to visit their newest location my kids were freaking out and couldn't wait!
The have a few new additions, besides their new location, they now offer a choice of wicks, traditional rope or wood that crackles when it burns. They also offer a wide variety of jars both glass and tin.
The Draper location also has the same darling photo op wall, so we had to recreate our photo from a couple years ago. My kids have grown SO much!
First up, you make a reservation on line which is awesome because it's never crowded when you go and someone is there to walk you through the whole process without feeling rushed.
Then you walk up and down the rows making a list of your favorite scents.
After all the smelling and decision making, its on to the fun part. Making the candle. You get to smell and the scents together and make your final selection. Then mix everything, pour, stir, all the things and you have your own custom candle!
Wells is 4 and absolutely loved it. I feel like he understood what he was doing better this time. Last time he was 2 and while he still had fun last time, he was able to do more this time. Berdee, age 7 was able to do the entire thing without assistance. So she really fell in love with the experience.
Making labels
So many jars to choose from.
And these are the cute new wood wicks.
There was lots of candle making, and even more memory making tonight. The kids were all just so excited. Running around, smelling everything. Getting everyone opinion, deciding on the jar. The whole experience really was so fun and bonding for our family.
They said they don't get a ton of kids in, it's mostly date nights, but they were so sweet to my kids and said they just love having kids in because its such a magical experience for them.
This is the COOLEST field trip idea! So see how candles are make and actually create one. It was pretty cool.
They turned out so good! The smells are amazing, and the kids can't wait to get them home and light them during reading time. It's seriously the best souvenir. And the kids are so proud that we can actually use something that they made.
Gotta represent.
The Wick Lab is truly one of the most beautiful places to spend an evening. The staff was incredibly warm, kind and patient with my littles and offered to take photos and take our jackets, and help us from the second we walked in, until we finished.
This really is a great activity for any age, and any group. And we look forward to visiting again.
We hope this post was helpful and informative, as always, please reach out if you have any questions, and be sure to tag us @saltproject.co when you go so we can share!
Be sure to check out their reservations and schedule an appointment. We recommend for any age (with assistance) or 7+ to do it independently.
This would be such a fun birthday party idea, or just a cool unique experience for date night.
The entire experience is included in the price and just depends on the container you choose ($19-24).
