West Valley Family Fitness Center

Kyra us here today telling us all about the West Valley Family Fitness Center!

My boys and I visited the West Valley Family Fitness Center for the first time in December a few years ago while we were getting photos with Santa done in one of the upstairs general-purpose rooms. This facility offers so many great features a lap pool, a leisure pool, basketball and racquetball courts, an indoor track, cardio equipment, a weight room, a climbing wall, dance, and aerobic rooms, but our very favorite feature is the indoor play area for children. On our first visit, my oldest son was quick to notice the “Edu"-tainment Center” on the floor just below us. Intrigued, I asked about it at the front desk and before long we were playing in the "Edu"-tainment Play Center, Christmas pajamas and all.

Fair warning, my 5-year-old, Liam, LOVES the "Edu"-tainment Center. Like, never wants to leave, just celebrated his 5th birthday party there, kind of love. With 6,000 square feet of play area perfect for kids of all ages, it’s not hard to understand why. The "Edu"-tainment Center includes a large playground, a mini grocery store, tree house, toddler area, a basketball area, video games and more!

One of Liam’s favorite features in the "Edu"-tainment Center is the Eye Play interactive game floor. Various games are projected onto the floor and he uses his feet to score goals, to squash sharks, pop popcorn, etc. It could keep him entertained for hours and keeps me wishing we had one at our home.

Our favorite time to visit the "Edu"-tainment Center is in the morning during the summer or on school days. It usually isn’t too busy and is usually just toddler aged kiddos at that time. This is a great place to visit in the summer or the winter so you can beat the heat or stay out of the cold.

Within the "Edu"-tainment Center, there are two bathrooms, both of which have diaper changing stations. There is also a drinking fountain which is good because all that playing makes my kiddos pretty thirsty. They also have benches for parents to use while their kids are playing.

The "Edu"-tainment Center is for kids ages 11 and under and children ages 6 and younger must be accompanied by an adult. There are specific hours in which there is an attendant on duty who helps with video games, movies and helps to maintain the center. They also offer a free movie in the "Edu"-tainment Center on Mondays at 4 p.m. and in April they usually host an Easter egg hunt!

We also love to visit the indoor leisure pool at the fitness center, they have a great zero-entry area with brightly colored water features and a whirlpool as well as a 32-foot water slide. While my kids are still a bit timid around the tall slide they can’t get enough of the smaller, duck-themed slide perfect for toddlers and younger kids. My kids could (and often do) spend hours at this pool and love every minute of it. Especially during the winter months, we love to visit and pretend like it’s summer for the afternoon.

We love visiting the West Valley Family Fitness Center and hope you will too!

Helpful Tips
  • If you’re a mom with kiddos 3 or under only they typically don’t charge you if you tell them you’d like to take your kiddos to play in the Edutainment Center- as long as you’re not using any of the other fitness center features.
  • There is a café there for food purchase.
  • They offer various party packages which include use of the Edutainment Center, swimming pool and indoor climbing walls.
  • They offer child care, preschool and other kid programs.
