Inside the old train station it feels like a step back in time. My Grandma Milly worked at the station at the ticket counter many years ago when Ogden was one of the main hubs in the nation for rail travel. In farct, every train passing cross country was required to stop in Ogden. So 25th street was a pretty scary place during some to the history of Ogden. Things have really turned around since that time and now the charming street is one of my favorite places to go!

Tucked inside Union Station on the south side is Union Grill. Our kids LOVE Union Station and were so excited to go for dinner.

We went on a Friday night but we were walked in just in time and were seated immediately.

We sat in this charming dining hall study with a fire place, ornate curtains, and book shelves to the ceiling. Every where we turned, it looked like fellow guests were celebrating something with family and friends.

Breck (8) got pasta, I sampled it, and we both agreed it was pretty amazing.

I got the blackened salmon. It was cooked to perfection. I'm kind of a salmon snob because my dad makes the best! So I'm always a little cautious when ordering it at restaurants. But this was amazing! It passes my stamp of approval.

Dan got a steak. It was a little over cooked for his liking, so be sure to clarify if you want it medium, but the flavor was spot on.  He gave it 2 thumbs up. Oh, and his mashed potatoes were so good, I'm sure I ate half of them.

Berdee (1) wasn't in the mood for a sit down meal. She ate a bit of the boys food but spent most of her time by the fire. I can't blame her.

Tis' the season for pumpkin cheesecake, how could we resist? It was very rich, and perfectly pumpkin'ed.

My favorite was the chocolate cake. We ordered a slice, but it was at least a quarter of a cake! Really, we all shared it and still had left over cake for 2 days! A quarter of a cake, I'm telling you, it was that big!

The waiting area was packed when we got out, so glad we beat the rush. I love that the walls are lined with benches from the old railroad station. So much character and charm. If you are looking for something unique and charming with great food in Ogden, Union Grill is the place!

Thanks for hosting us Union Grill, we had a lovely time.
