St. George Bucket List 2025

Spring Break is finally upon us! We headed down south for an early Spring Break before Winnie has her pups. We curated the ultimate Spring Bucketlist for y'all!

Lets start with my FAVORITE thing I took on this trip.
A friend of my was inspired by our trip and decided to head down south this weekend. She said she spent 4 hrs doing research and was so utterly exhausted after searching, so questioned even going. I have to say, I feel the same when we go to a new place. There are so many sites and so many options, it really can be overwhelming. Thats one of the reasons we started this blog!
I was doing so much research for our family trips, but still had so many unanswered questions like if my little kids would like it, or if they would even be able to do it. Do they have bathrooms? Is it stroller friendly?
Thats how the Salt Project was born! I was already doing the research and documenting our family adventures. I was more than happy to help the next mom along the way. Especially when there were things I wish I had know before going.
My blog is FILLED with the best of the best that Utah has to offer.
This trip we tried some new places as well as tried and true favorites.
First up,
Snow Canyon
Here are our favorite hikes with kids. This trip we took ebikes up the canyon with friends. They views were breathtaking. An absolute must!

Our favorite hike is the petrified sand dunes (above). There is a parking lot right at the trail head so its a super short walk, just a few minutes. Then, we just let the kids run wild and explore.
Canyoneering
We met up with with friends at Yanky Doodle Canyon, About 50 min north of St.George. I got lots of questions about this activity. Our friends brother goes all the time, so he taught us how to do it. It was SO FUN! You can find a guide that does tours in the area if you need extra help.
Meadow Hot Springs
We always stop here on the way down south or on our way home. Blog post HERE.
Pioneer Park
This is tradition. An absolute must for any age. The botanical gardens are right next door and have bathrooms. There is a new paved trail around the entire park and this area is home to our favorite hike, THE CRACK.
You can also climb Dixie Rock (pictured below)
Just to the right of the crack to the east, you will see a large cliff. If you climb up, you will find this hidden gem at the top! I'm dubbing it the Pioneer Pool! When it rains, i'm sure it fills up with water.
More to the east, you will find 2 mini arches (please don't climb on them)
And lastly, we always just let the kids run wild and climb and have fun. There is so much to explore.
Anasazi Trial
This hike is new to us. It was a short 1.5 mile out and back trail. The parking lot has a bathroom and the trail head is clearly marked from there. Just follow the gravel trail to the Tempi-po-op trail marker and it will lead you straight to the petroglyphs .
Please be respectful and don't step on them or touch them.
Jacob Hamblin Home
This historic home tour is available for FREE! It took about 45 minutes and was a great activity to learn some new things about the area and the early pioneers, and cool off.
333 Steps Hike
The Tech Ridge Staircase, located on the west side of the bluff near Dixie Technical College (top of trail) or you can start at the bottom at the end of S Walker Way. 37.09790° N, 113.59630° W Here are the exact coordinates. We COULD NOT find it for the life of us. We were driving everywhere. We finally found a StGeorge city truck and asked him if he knew where we could find it. He was so kind and ended up driving us straight to it!
It took us 9 minutes from the parking lot to the top, .30 miles. 15 mintues total. My 7 year old said it was the best hike he has ever been on. I don't think it was, but it was fun and it had signs along the way so you know how many stairs you've climbed. We will definitely be making this hike a new tradition every time we come to town.
Scout Cave
This was an AWESOME hike! The parking lot in Snow Canyon was closed so we had to find an alternate route that took us a little longer, so I won't be sharing that, but if you can add this to your spring bucket list, I was absolutely do it. 3.4 miles out and back from Snow Canyon and considered moderately challenging.
The views and turain were amazing. I will definitly be doing this one again.
