Snowbird Ski and Summer Resort | Adventurin'
Did you guys know that Snowbird hosts summer activities?
They have a whole line up of fun things to do and you could easily spend days up there. Its beautiful, a little different than the normal summer activities, and, since its higher elevation, its much cooler than in the valley. Take today for example, its 71 here in Bountiful and 55 there in Snowbird! Sign me up!
Here's a list of all the fun activities Snowbird has to offer in the summer:
- Aerial Tram Rides
- Mountain Coaster
- Alpine Slide
- Mountain Flyer
- Vertical Drop
- Climbing Wall
- Ropes Course
- Bungee Trampoline
- Kid's Inflatables
- Gemstone Mining
- Peruvian Chair and Tunnel
- Hiking
Our little girls were interested in the Aerial Tram and the Alpine Slide.
The Aerial Tram was one of those, "Oh, Utah is soooo beautiful" experiences. The tram takes you from the very base of snowbird up to the best views snowbird has to offer. They are breathtaking.
I've only seen views like this after a long and difficult hike.
It was nice to get the reward without the "work". And HUGE bonus, its handicap accessible! Thinking about kids who can't hike getting this experience just brings tears to my eyes.
The tram runs from 11 am - 8 pm, daily. The entire trip takes at least 40 minutes. 10 minute ride up, 20 minute site seeing, and 10 minute ride down. If you want to sight see more than the allotted 20 minutes, no big deal, you can just catch the next tram down.
If you're feeling REALLY adventurous, you can hike down one of the trails and end back at the base of Snowbird.
The Alpine slide was also a big hit.
Riders 3-6 must ride with an adult and riders under 3 are not allowed. You take a complimentary chairlift ride up to the slide and then get on a coaster car to ride down. You can control your speed and the track takes you through some beautiful scenery and under a little bridge. It's a great option for families with various age groups. The little kids can go nice and slow and the older kids can ride their own coaster car and take things a little faster. Our girls got a little nervous on the chairlift ride up (they are generally a little more cautious than your typical kid), but when all was said and done they wanted to do it all again.
Go cool off at Snowbird this summer, its well worth the trip!
