Salt Lake City Wall Murals

SLC Pepper Mural

250 S. 400 W. Salt Lake City

For all you Beatles fans out there, this one was done for you!  It's a remake of the original Sgt. Pepper's cover.  The Sgt. Pepper's mural was created by Jann Haworth, the same artist who created the original Beatles album cover and lives in Utah!

Book Mural

Just south of the 222 S. Main Street Building, Salt Lake City

This second mural is one that took some effort to find, but once you find it, the more you want to go back.  It's just that cool.

Classic Books Painted on a Wall

Stephanie and I are both book lovers so this it's only fitting that we took pictures of pictures of the Book Wall.  Stephanie used her Fujifilm Instax Mini 8 Instant Film Camera to print these photos.  (I totally want one now.)  Just down the block is the Eborn book store.  Ya'll totally need to check it out.

Picture of Pictures

Utah Fine Arts Museum

410 Campus Center Drive, Salt Lake City

Why is this so cool?  Maybe because it is the Utah Fine Arts Museum?  I don't know, but we sure love how our photos turned out!

A few weeks after we visited the Book Mural, Stephanie and I had been in Salt Lake City for Build Your Blog Conference and decided to make a little video.  At the conference, everyone told us that if we weren't making videos we were SOO behind!  What better place than our beloved Book Mural?!

So what do you think?  Are videos cool?  Lame?  How long should our videos be?  We want to know what you think.

The "No Parking - on a brick wall" mural is located in the alley just east of the Capitol Theater. Makes a great photo backdrop too.

Was taking Christmas family photos at the book mural and was threatened by a female security guard that it was private property and photos were not allowed. And threatened to call police. Well we were just leaving and had all the photos we wanted. Just a heads up. Security showed up 30 minutes after we got there. So you have time.

I just took some pictures of the masteful pieces at 203 S 400 W yesterday. I have not been able to find out for sure who the artist is. Some attribute it to Jan Haworth others to James Kirkland. Do I send the pics to your email ? and Do you know for sure who the artist is?

Woah! Security at the book mural was on top of us within minutes. Apparently the artist has given permission for his work to be photographed, but the owner of the "canvas" or building will not permit any kind of photography. It was made clear that he owned everything in sight and could make that call. However he would like you to support him and eat at his restaurant.

Hey! Just to let you know, we went to the book mural yesterday and the parking garages security guard told us we had to leave and couldnt take pictures there because it is trespassing. I honestly dont see how it is trespassing because it is in an ally way but I just wanted to let you know!
