Rowley's Big Red Barn U-Pick Apples
We have driven by Rowley's Red Barn countless times, always with a promise of stopping one of these times.
Our 1st visit was perfect timing because it was opening week for the U-pick apples! We arrived about 10 am on a Saturday and the crowds were very minimal. We timed it just right because the parking lot was full by the time we left. They have over 1000 acres, so although there were quite a few cars in the parking lot, we had an entire row to ourselves for picking and some cute photo ops.
One of the owners gave us some great tips for picking the perfect Honey Crisp apples. You want a nice blush to it and to pull it off the tree all you have to do is tip it upside down and the apple pops right off the tree! I never knew it was so easy!
We took our time going down the rows picking the apples with the best blush. All the kids (age 2-15) participated and had a blast! The apples were SO sweet!
You can stay as long as you like and they also have boxes of other fruits pre-picked and available for purchase.
You definitely have to stop at the Big Red Barn to pick up a cool drink and some treats whey you finish picking. They are known for their apple cider donuts and jugs of cider.
