Professor Creek / Mary Jane Trail - Moab

May 18, 2026
Professor Creek, UT

This is a stunning hike! Totally worth the 40 min drive BUT, there are only 28 parking spaces and no parking allowed on the road, so go early or, like us, go later in the afternoon when most people are headed back to town for dinner.

We got back to the car just as the sun was going down. Perfect timing because we didn't have flashlights, and 2 of our phones were dead! We definitly didn't plan for being out so late.

There is consistant river crossing, so water shoes are best, and at the end, its straight up river into a slot canyon to reach the waterfall at the end.

This hike was long but easy, as you just follow the river the entire way. No steep hills. But you do have to cross the river, with rocks and it was deeper in parts, up to our knees sometimes, but mostly ankle deep.

10/10 recommend!

I got so many requests for my hiking skirt! Its so comfy and dries quickly.

And my all time favorite white tank, 10/10!
