The secret is out!
Surf n' Swim in Layton is $1 on Wednesdays. The pool is covered with a huge bubble and they allow food! Kids 3 and under are FREE! And parents don't have to pay if they don't swim (but if you have littles, they expect you to be with them in the water). They also allow you to bring food in! Score!
Here's how we do Pizza N' Plunge
1. I have the kids put on their swimmers and then their PJ's over and off we go.
2. There is a Little Caesars down the street, so we stop and pick up a $5 hot n' ready and some bread sticks. This is a double treat. I don't have to cook dinner, and the kids think take out pizza is the best thing in the world. Plus they can come and eat pizza as they are hungry, then go back and swim again.
3. Berdee (18m) is fearless in the water. Last year I just sat on the sidelines with her in her carrier and watched the kids. This year I'm on "keep baby's head above water" duty. She is loves the water and doesn't mind jumping into the waves. So I have to sit with her and watch her like a hawk. (luckily after about an hour and can convince her to go take a hot shower and put her in her PJ's. Then she just hangs out by the stairs and eats her pizza while she watched the other kids.
4. After the kids are finished swimming, we head to the showers. I bring shampoo, conditioner, and Surf n' Swim supplies soap. The kids wash up (in their swimmer) and then head to the changing room to swap their swimmer for PJ's. And thats a wrap! The kids had a great night playing, dinner, and ready for bed! There really is nothing better. When we get home they are all ready for bed and no one has to fight over who is first for showers, plus, they don't freeze on the drive home from being in wet swimmers.
There you have it! The Pizza N' Plunge is a huge hit at our house. It's only $1 in while the bubble is on, so be sure to visit before summer!
$1 Wednessday is 6-8:45
Sometimes they rent the entire place out, so call before you go
If you get there right at six, there is usuallly a line out the door to get in, because they don't let anyone in before the clock strikes 6. But the line goes fast.
