I was searching options to float the Weber River, one of our favorite summer traditions since we moved back to Utah. We usually float the same spot in Ogden but I knew there was a place you could go for a longer ride. While searching I found Park City Rafting. I had no idea you could raft the Weber River! And the best news is that you can take kids as young as 3! This would be a perfect addition to our Summer Bucket List for the whole family (minus #readsbonusbaby).
The raft fits quite a few people so I invited my sister in-law and her kids along for the ride.
We drove up to Morgan where we parked and got set up. They provided life jackets and drove us 6 miles up the canyon to Henefer where our rafting adventure began. We had an amazing tour guide Adam helping us the entire journey. He was so knowledgeable, telling us about different animals, bugs, and landmarks along the way like Devils Slide.
We rafted 6 miles over level 2.5 rapids. It took about 1.5 hrs start to finish. There were spots when the river was slow and deep so we were able to jump in and cool off. We also tied the raft up at one point and floated a rapid with our the raft. Berdee (4 yrs old) stayed in the raft for this portion of the adventure but everyone else did it a couple times.
Adam was right there the entire time helping us, telling us when to row and when to hold on. We never lost someone overboard but we did have a couple kids fall inside the raft.
There was one point when we had to lay down in the raft to fit under a bridge.
The tour ended at the same place it started so we just jumped out of the raft and walked back to the car. You can also hitch a ride in the van that hauls the rafts if you want.
This was an awesome experience for all of us. My kids are already talking about doing it again next summer.
