Stephanie here-
Today is the day! They are judging the birdhouses at The Ogden Nature Center!
DAN'S Grandma Mary Adams passed away last year and her old 130+ year log cabin farm house and coal sheds will be demolished this year. We wanted to use some of the wood to make something special to remember her by. When we heard about the bird house contest at Ogden Nature Center we thought it would be a such a good family project.
We named this one "Adams Farm House." It is made out of wood from the coal shed and her old rocking horse.
Locke's (9) birdhouse was made out of an old trophy. He named it The Rock of Locke.
We named Rizden's (4) birdhouse "Shorty after" his great grandpa Dale 'Shorty' Adams.
It's made out of his old shovel and leather dog collar for the perch.
This was a fun family project, the kids had fun designing things and using tools. We are so excited to display these houses in the yard to remember Mary and Shorty.
The Ogden Nature Center presents For the Birds....an outdoor exhibit of handcrafted and whimsical birdhouses. The exhibit runs from April 11 through June 30, 2015 and is open 9am-5pm Monday through Friday and 9am-4pm on Saturdays.
Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for children. Members are free.
