How Circle With Disney Can Make a Better You.

A few months ago I was watching a YouTube video with my kids. I rarely watch YouTube videos and I never let the kids watch YouTube. I had actually deleted the App a few years ago when my toddler was opening the App herself. She was two then. The video we were watching was hilarious and completely harmless and I decided to run downstairs to change the wash really quick while the kids were watching.

While folding laundry I lost track of time and then suddenly remembered the kids upstairs watching. I ran upstairs because sometimes unwanted videos pop up on YouTube after your video is finished.

I came upstairs to see my kids watching a terribly inappropriate show. No kid should have to watch that. They are only 3 & 4 and I could tell they found it really uncomfortable. I was uncomfortable. #MomFail

I felt like the worst mother in the world.

Then came along the Circle with Disney. I almost thought for a hot moment that my family didn’t need it. Our kids are too young and they don’t get to play on our phones anyway. Surely, my husband and I didn’t need it, did we? So we put it to the test. (Stephanie shared how easy it was to set-up here. )

I was wasting a lot of time. Time that I should have been spent with my babies and my husband.

I was kind of surprised to find out the Circle tracks how much time you’d spent each day online and on what app or website. It’s embarrassing to see how much time I’d spent online for the last month. One day I had racked up 5 hours!! (Most of it was due to Netflix and Sherlock Holmes but still.) I would like to think most of my online life was due to The Salt Project . . . but after researching, I’d found most it wasn’t.

Circle totally helps you become a better family.

With Insights, you can set time limits for each app. Since my main apps are Instagram, Facebook and E-mail, I decided to set an hour for each. I feel like this makes me be much more productive with my online time.

Circle with Disney helps me be more conscious about by online time.

Not only can the Circle track my phone time, it can also track the time on each device in the house. On my computer I get a little pop-up that says "It's your bedtime." On my phone, my feeds won't load anymore because Circle has shut it off. As my kids get older and start entering the World Wide Web on their own, we'll be able to monitor everything.

Circle with Disney helps keep my family safe from explicit shows.

You can set the Filter level to five different levels. Each level allows different Apps that you can enable or disable. You can even set a custom filter. Make sure to scroll to the very bottom and see all the different options.

Circle with Disney gave me more spouse time.

This is one of my favorite features. Why? Because it makes me go to bed. Instead of scrolling endlessly through feeds, Circle shuts off my WiFi. It’s not only my WiFi, it’s on my husband’s phone too. Now, instead of us laying in bed reading feeds on opposite sides of the bed, we actually talk about how our day, what funny things the kids said or did. Or even snuggle for Pete's sake!

Circle with Disney made us better parents.

At first I was thinking that much of my online life depends on kids naptime and baby nursing sessions, but now, I’m convinced I need to just turn it off more through out the day. With all this time I forgot I had, or didn't think I had, we'll be able to go on more family adventures.

While it’s sad to think that our lives have become so phone dependent (because how else would we find out about beautiful poppie fields?) I’m glad Circle with Disney came along to remind me of what's really important in this crazy, techno world.
