Honeysuckle Coffee Co. & Play Cafe
As someone who really hates cold weather I’m constantly on the lookout for warm spots to take my kiddos that will keep them busy and get us out of the house. I was actually on my way to a neighboring Mexican Restaurant when I noticed what looked like the cutest coffee shop in the world.
What really caught my attention though was a sign that read, “kid play area”. I knew I was going to have to go back and check it out. The next day I packed up my kiddos and we headed out to explore Honeysuckle Coffee Co.
The seating area that you see immediately as you walk in is large and inviting, they have many tables and some cozy conversation spots that are pretty hard to resist. The décor, attention to detail and ambiance is pretty impressive. They’ve clearly put a lot of time and thought into creating an inviting, beautiful space.
My kiddos favorite part, is the cute ‘play café’ (my two favorite words ever) located in the back of the coffee shop. You’ll find it near the bathrooms and far away from the exit- the perfect spot for kiddos. The play café is just as well decorated and inviting as the rest of the coffee shop and offers toys and books perfect for kids to enjoy. My boys (ages 1 & 3) loved playing with the train set and play kitchen and I loved that I could enjoy my drink in relative peace.
Mom win. The play café area is separated by a wall with a window allowing parents to peek in or there is seating right in the play café if you prefer to stay close by while your kiddos play.
I’m more of a hot chocolate gal then a coffee girl so I tried their hot chocolate and I wasn’t disappointed. It was rich and dark and the foam on top was a beautiful addition.
I have heard that the coffee is amazing though so if you love coffee I doubt you’ll be sad about it. They also offer teas, Italian sodas and homemade baked goods made with hormone-free, local ingredients. They even have an assortment of healthy kid snacks available for purchase.
I can safely say that we will visit Honeysuckle Coffee Co. again soon.
This place is a gem that The South end of the valley desperately needed. I love the local, family-friendly feel and hope that they’ll be around for a long time. My kiddos definitely agree.
