Harmony Park | South Salt Lake

I don't know about you, but I get super excited when I discover a new park to visit with my kids.  The other day, I was running errands in South Salt Lake and I needed to take a break with my two youngest. 

I did a quick Google search and found a nearby park called Harmony Park, so we checked it out.  I was very pleasantly surprised.   

The park features two large playground structures, plus swings and various other fun playground toys that you don't see at a whole lot of parks around town.

One of my kids' favorite things to play on was a wavy concrete wall that they walked back and forth on while holding my hand.  We were pretty much the only ones there on a random morning, except for another mom and her two kids, so we basically had the park to ourselves for the hour that we were there. 

Other great features about this park include tennis courts, softball field, horseshoe pits, pavilions with picnic tables, restrooms, and more.  It's a pretty big park with plenty of room to run around. 

The one potential downside is that there were a few people hanging around that might have been homeless.  But maybe they were just regular people enjoying a mid-morning nap on the grass?  Who knows?  Sometimes this is the standard for parks in Salt Lake City and South Salt Lake - a few random people hanging around. 

As long as I kept my eyes on my kids, I felt like this was a fine park to visit, and I'll be back again in the near future!

Bonus fact: Harmony Park is really close to the Utah Children's Theater!  So if you ever head to the Utah Children's Theater for a show (which you should do some time soon), plan a little extra time to visit Harmony Park to get the kids' wiggles out before enjoying a play.
