I hadn't had Mexican food for months and I was craving it. I also love trying new places, so when I found Maria's in South Ogden we decided to leave the kids home for this one and have a nice double date for a change.

They brought out chips and fresh salsa right away. Bonus points. And the chips were seasoned. Another bonus point.

The atmosphere was great. Nice and new but with the wood and lights, it had lots of charm.

The sweetest couple just opened Maria's a few months ago! They are local Utahns and just moved up to Ogden to open the restaurant. 

I spy kids! This made my heart so happy! I love when a family business is REALLY a family business, kids and all. That's how I was raised and I hope to be able to provide my kids with the same opportunity one day. We LOVE family businesses here at The Salt Project.

I'm usually a water with lemon girl, but when I saw Mexican soda on the menu I had to partake. And Dan changed his order from Fountain Coke or Mexican Coke because, well, it's better, that's why. 

Frosted mugs! Things just got real.

Dan and I ordered the top left Maria's House Specialties. It serves two and we didn't finish it. I don't even know what it was, i just saw another customer eating it and thought it looked good. It. Was. Gooooood! All of the meats (chicken, steak, shrimp, and veggies... I want to go back tonight! It's served with a side of tortillas and a plate overflowing with guac, beans, rice... everything you need to make a custom taco. I'll definitely be ordering it again next time.

We had a great time. Great service. Super sweet owners. Delicious food. I forgot to add up all the bonus points, but we loved it all.
