Gilgal Sculpture Garden | Salt Lake City

Gilgal Garden Sculpture

We've been reading about Gilgal Gardens for a while now, we heard it was ah..."unique."  So we weren't sure what to expect.

Gilgal Garden SculptureRed Shoes on a rock

It's quite weird honestly.  There is so much to read and look at, that you are left quite baffled.  Like, the mans' brick pants for instance.  After Stephanie pointed them out I just couldn't tear my eyeballs away from them.  I do appreciate a good textile, so this brick thing was quite cool.  Also, lots of scripture references everywhere.  EVERYWHERE.

Boy holding sticks under a Stone Arch

Sticks.  Always sticks.  We had to remind the littles to look around and check out the garden instead of the sticks.

Two Babies sitting between Eagle Scupltures

Some of the sculptures just kind of creeped me out.  I kind of felt like we were in Ghostbusters or something.  I was waiting for their eyeballs to turn red and magic portals to open.  I mean, check out the body pieces that were strewn about below.

Sphynx with Joseph Smith Face

That sphinx...I don't really have words for it.  It's kind of something that you .... what?  Want for your window sill?  Maybe get a small replica as a paper weight?

Weird.  RIGHT?  Well, The Salt Project is all about bringing you the hidden gems, so there you go Utah lovers.

Because there are so many hidden gems in Salt Lake City, we decided to try our own Amazing Race from Urban Adventure Quest!  We are going to turn Salt Lake City into a giant board game. It's a three-hour city tour that uses any smart phone as a guide!  Clues and all!  We're going to try it in the next month and we will let you know how it goes, have any of you tried this before?  We want to know what you think too!

We've got a promo code for you if you don't want to wait for our review:
