We got wind of an association of food trucks that were coming together to network and form a league of vendors that would all set up in one place and host an outside food court complete with live entertainment — The Food Truck League. Instantly we knew we wanted needed to go!

For now they meet every Monday night in Sugarhouse at 2234 Highland Drive and every Friday starting June 5th, will be at the U of U Bountiful Campus (100 E 100 S), but they are quickly expanding and will soon host a food truck night every night of the week all over the Wasatch front. You can follow them @foodtruckleague or sign up for their newsletter to stay up to date as they open up new locations.

We decided to go out on their opening night, which was so fun. We got to see Francisco cut the yellow tape and get things started. Then almost instantly, things got INSANE! So much support from the community that within 15 minutes there was standing room only! You could feel the energy radiating from The Sugarmont Plaza, so many people supporting local, small businesses and with a live band playing there was definitely an awesome vibe.

Such a great family night out because all 4 of my kids were able to pick out just what they wanted for dinner without having to fight over which restaurant we'd go to. Having 10 trucks right next to each other meant we were able to hit up 5 different cuisines all at once. And true to the food truck reputation, all of them were sooo good!

What kid (or adult ;) doesn't love breakfast for dinner?!

Corbin is allergic to milk, but never passes up the opportunity to get fresh cooked, wood-fire pizza... hold the cheese!

After we got all the kids' food we found a nice little corner to claim and everyone dug in. We got there early and were able to get food right away, but it really did get packed within minutes. Luckily we are all baby wearing mamas so we could keep the little ones close without worrying about losing anyone! We are thinking things will calm down a little as they start up more locations and spread things out a bit. Until then, I would just plan on arriving right at the start of the night.

"It was like grown-up, full of flavor, gooey mac and cheese!"

#TheLegue promises to be a fun, happening event every time!

The Sasquatch... because, how do you not?

Blacks Sliders had delicious little, well sliders :) They made the perfect size hamburgers for little toddler mouths that I felt good about him eating as all their beef comes fresh from an ethical farm and is hormone and antibotic free. I love it when I can find quality, fast food for my kids!

#TheLeague has over 40 trucks in its network and will rotate around so you always get new food choices at each location. We will definitely have to hit up this event again in the future, so yummy!

We suggest you bring a couple camp chairs and set up right when the trucks are getting started for the night to guarantee a spot close to the entertainers and ensure that your favorite cuisine doesn't sell out, because it was that good. It was crazy, but give them a couple weeks to get more locations going and set up more trucks and this promises to be a perfect family night out all summer long!
