Welcome Megan from Brassy Apple!

When we moved to Utah (almost 5 years ago) we quickly asked neighbors about their favorite kid/family friendly trails. One of those we discovered is Farmington/Lagoon trail (750 North 100 West Farmington, UT). This is a trail we have discovered is so much fun in ALL seasons!

Spring and Summer it is green and beautiful. The trail offers the right mix of sun and shade. It is paved so it is perfect for roller blades, skate boards, bikes, scooter, strollers and more.

(snowy winter view) We even found a fun patch of ice here when walking in the winter time. Always take time to play and let your kids see you know how to play.

The trails walks you under the roadway and if we aren't yelling and screaming to hear the echo we are stopping to take some awesome silhouette pictures.

There are some fallen tree trunks along the way from the big wind storm a few years ago. Someone has even carved on into a big chair. The foliage can be thick yet enchanting. Perfect for stories of trolls (big giant log chair) pixie and fairy hunting, searching out all different types of leaves and plants too plus wild berries, apples and other fruit grows along the trail.

The trail winds behind the Lagoon Amusement park and takes you right by the animals they have there. You can get close ups of the buffalo, some deer, camel, etc. There is also a cool hollow tree that we always spend a little time exploring in.

We like to walk the trail and spend time at the pond. The pond does have some "beachy" areas so bring some camp chairs and even a lunch or snacks! There are ducks and fish in the water. We always see people fishing (although we never have there) and even ICE fishing in the winter (when the weather is cold enough for the pond to freeze over). Last winter it was frozen over and we ventured out on the ice checking it off our "bucket list" to walk on a frozen lake.

The same pond is a very fun spot for cooling off in the Summer. Whether you are just wading, full on swimming or paddling around in a blow up canoe! This Summer my kids were all for trying out the rope swing!!! They had a total blast!

This same trip to the trail we had brought our bug catching net which they turned into fishing net and they were able to swipe a good sized fish just off the shoreline! Farmington trail is a place we could spend hours on. Whether at the pond or walking the trail or doing both, it's great for the whole family.
