Our bigger kids love the splash pad because of its raised platform. Rather than just spraying water the pad features a small playground structure that the kids can climb on and best of all a small water slide.

The slide has padding at the bottom for the kids to land on so they don't get scraped up. There is nothing better to a kid in the summertime than a water slide!

Some of my younger kids prefer to stick to the ground and love running through the various spraying elements and shooting people with the water guns.

Up on the structure there are also plenty of spray guns to control and dump buckets to release on unsuspecting victims below!

The real draw for my kids though is the giant dump bucket. It slowly fills up and then POURS all over the kids. They scream with delight and love every second of it!

The best thing that allowed it to make the top of my preferred splash pad list are the giant canopies that were recently installed around the entire area. Shade in the summertime makes everything better! Mom can sit and watch the kids play, baby can nap and the littles can take a break from the sun every now and then.

We use to always pack a lunch and have a picnic, play for a couple hours and then head home. However, we have recently discovered that we enjoy our time more if we eat at home and then head over to the splash pad later in the afternoon. Around 3:30, if seems like the heavy crowds start to let up and we are able to spread out and avoid a little bit of the congestion.
