We've been to Cedar City many times over our 13 years of marriage. My husband is from Cedar City and we both went to school at SUU, so we love coming to visit. But how many times have we been swimming in a pool in Cedar City? Not once. That's because for many years there wasn't a public pool...there was an old one, that was quite shady and had seen better times, but it was ripped down. There is a pool at the college, but we haven't been there since college.

Now though? Cedar City has quite the state of the art Aquatic Center! My jaw literally dropped when we entered. I wasn't expecting so many cool features! Best part, NO SUNSCREEN!

There's water slides all over and something for every age.

I was slightly worried about bring my toddler, since I didn't bring out puddle jumpers. Luckily, it's a walk in pool that only gets deeps on one end.

The water feature playground was pretty cool too.

There's even a lazy river!

Don't you worry, if you want to excercise there is a lap pool located in another room.

While I didn't go down it, there is a giant waterslide! It's huge and winds around multiple times and is super dark. I can't remember, but there is a height restriction.

There's even a HOT TUB! And it's actually hot! They ask that you don't let anyone under 5 in the hot tub either. During the warmer months there is an outside pool too.

There's plenty of lawn chairs and picnic tables surrounding the pool. It was kind of nice to let sleeping Farah just sleep on the sidelines. (Don't worry, she was safely guarded by her auntie.)

I'm not sure waht this egg thing is, but the littler kids spent A LOT of time here. They slipped, they slid, they tripped on purpose, even baby Vesper thought it was hilariously fun.

I even saw some older kids trying to ski across the top of it.

My husband couldn't resist using his old school swim towel.

Seriously, there is so much to do here and it was lots of fun. We haven't been to a good waterpark in a while (ya know, snow will do that to you.) and Cedar's Aquatic Center was top notch.

Helpful Tips
  • Check the hours before going, sometimes the Aquatic Center holds swim meets and shuts down to the public.
  • There free water flotation vests to use. (We forgot our puddle jumpers.)
  • Plenty of bathrooms/showers/lockers. Although I saw signs of high theft in the bathrooms, so be sure to lock it up.
  • Concessions stand available.
  • Plenty of lawn chairs and tables to eat/lay on.
  • Bring your baby swim diapers.
