Southern Utah Spring Break trip!

I found these awesome swimsuits for only $8!!! The quality is amazing! I ordered them for all the boys (mens, and kids) for this trip! They have every color too!

On whim on our way out of town, we decided to skip the crowds at Zion, and drive an hour west of Cedar City (where we were staying) and check out the moon caves at Cathedral Gorge State Park in Nevada.

It was 100% worth the drive. It was the highlight of our trip. We explored for hours and barely saw a handful of other people.

There is not much out there so we recommend packing a picnic to eat there. They have a cute will rustic picnic area that is fully shaded and had nice clean tables and water and pit toilets too.

There are 2 hikes that you can't skip. First is the moon caves.  This is not so much a hike, as it is just exploring. You can drive right up to the caves. There are dozens and dozens, we didn't even get to all of them. The best we found were located by the wood pillars where you can park. But they are also by the trailhead, they are just smaller/shorter.

The next hike is Miller Point. You have to leave the park and drive about a mile up the road. There is a small parking lot and a lookout point if you dont want to hike, you can see the gorge from there.

Or you can walk down into the gorge from a series of stairs and bridges and explore from there. My kids loved this hike just as much as the moon caves. The gorge was dry, but it was still awesome to explore.

Moon Caves

My kids climbed to the top of the moon caves. In some spots there were holes so deep, they couldn't see the bottom! Be sure to warn your kids and watch them close if they are climbing.

Otherwise, they can run free through the caves which are basically slot canyons.

We ended up driving back to SLC via Nevada and it was a gorgeous dive! highly recommend. And only an extra 20 minutes to get home.

If you find a little tunnel and dare to squeeze through it, you will find this rope on the other side, leading to more caves!
